Appreciate the experience and tips! Will be checking around, it looks like the local SD ones are roughly 300 average. Going to a 5 star Yelp review for over 600 reviews, for 350. A little bit more, but if I’m going to get it done, might as well be done right the first get go. Regular dent shops recommended me this “specialist” PDR.
Do it right or don't do it at all... :fistbump: :like:

That's funny; over here I went to a collision shop and they said "you know, this PDR guy might be able to get those out, he does all our hail work, you should check with him first." And the PDR guy is the one who told me he couldn't get to them, and to have the body shop handle it. Guess so long as the solution is the same (an unbent truck that's straightened correctly) who you talk to first doesn't really matter.

Noticed you mentioned a tricolor pearl white. Is that a custom color? My 2011 Ranger had a pearlish white essence when parked under the Chevron station lights at night even though it was metallic silver.

I had the same color silver one. It did play game with you depending on the light

Rangers came in Oxford White (non-metallic) or White Platinum Metallic Tri coat for '19-'20, I believe WPM was discontinued for '21.

It has a nice amount of pearl to it. I like the bit of sparkle it has. So much so I have 2 Ford's in the same color.

I think ford called it white platinum, or White Platinum Pearl Tricoat.

Ahh it was an older suv white Mercedes, it’s one of those diagonal parkings so I’m on the right and a about a foot further back, front passenger door swung open I’m assuming. Left white paint I rubbed off. I was away for 5 minutes to pick up some food, that was the car parked next to me.
Ah, yeah I get it now. Parking at an angle would put the front door right there.

It's just such a big dent... It would seem that a dent doesn't get that big unless there's some serious effort put into it.

Slight update: so yes, like @Bludrok mentioned that I should look into comprehensive coverage. However, I sent them an email and they said since it was a hit and run, I would have to file a police report. the insurance would have to decide if it’s a collision or comprehensive but said more than likely it will be collision since it’s a hit and run. Thus, this would probably add a ping to my car fax, and I would have to go through all these hurdles for a potential couple hundred back. Looks like I am just going to do PDR guys and look into some fender flares/rock sliders. Unfortunate.
Generally, if you are not in the vehicle, it's not collision. That's the way my insurance has worked for me in a situation exactly like this. And while my collision deductible is $500, my comprehensive is 0. My last parking lot mishap didn't cost me anything. Sometimes it's not even collision if you are driving. I hit a deer once and that fell under comprehensive. It was $5K damage too with no deductible. Some things qualify and some don't. Windshields don't as I've found.

Yup exactly. That's why I felt it was purposeful or the person really just was stupidly careless.

That is good info to hear about the insurance stuff. When you reported the parking lot mishap, did they say they would decide whether it was comprehensive or collision on the spot or had to "investigate". They told me they would have to look at the case but the own insurance agent told me it would likely classify as collision.. Maybe I am not getting the best customer service with allstate but I had AAA before and they excelled at any issues. Real nice your insurance covered that deer hit, pretty crazy and I would imagine the damage would of been up there in those thousands like you said.

Dude, this sucks. Here I am annoyed that my wife dropped a SUP on the side of my truck and left a little scratch. I'd be wicked pissed if this happened.
Haha a little scratch, have you tried buffing it out with a little wax? Might help if it’s a small scratch. Yeah I’m still a little upsetti spaghetti but getting it fixed tomorrow at 9am and once the mark is gone, I’ll slooooowly forget about it haha.

Well, I came out and found the bonk on the bumper, there was no "decision" to be made it was just a comp claim, no police report needed, they just said go get a repair estimate and submit it. That was it. I have American Family by the way.

I think a police report was only needed if it's intentional vandalism or theft or something like that. Or if both drivers are present, in the vehicle and both are moving, then it's collision and the police have to do a report to assign % blame.

Now I'll be honest - I'm heard some bad things about Allstate. But that was years ago, maybe they have improved since then. You ever read this old article about the 10 worst insurance companies? It was a lot of years ago but damn it doesn't paint a good picture.

Wow that is some good insurance.

Maybe too much haven't changed with all state, perhaps I will check other insurances in the future. Will read that article, looks very interesting. Thanks!

Sunny,
That's right...I use the buddying method whenever I can. I went to Lowes just when Covid was settling down and people were getting back to normal. The rage was on for home improvement projects and the parking lot looked like the overflow at an NFL game. As I was pulling into the safest space I could find, a guy in a new Vette that was top end all the way parked next to me. I got out and we discussed a plan to keep us protected and we survived without an incident :whew:.

Trader Joe's is another treacherous place with small, skimpy parking lots and narrow lanes. I always park across the street at a mall that has a huge lot with an abundance of extra parking :)
Happily, the Trader Joe's where we shop in Delaware is in a huge mall, and if you are willing to walk (which I am), you can always find a place with empty spots next to it where nobody will bother you.

Glad to hear it. There are two TJ's here and the one I referred to is on it's own small property with no extended parking. During peak business hours people continually cruise the lot and will cut you off to get a space. Fortunately, the other one's parking is extended to a long mall that is not exceptionally busy. Lots of extra parking where you can angle in onto two spaces without making people angry enough to leave a note on your window  :)

People don’t like to walk. I always park in the back. It’s easier to get in and out too. I don’t know what it is in my particular area, but I see these slobs parked waiting in the middle of the lanes just waiting for someone to pull out so they can get a closer spot. Usually some hefty fella or woman in a big SUV or f250. Pathetic. That’s what I can’t stand about this area.

I’m in a ranting mood today. Another thing that I hate is a semi empty parking lot, with many many open spots and some IDIOT will park right next to you. Why!? Every time it happens I look over and shake my head. I never do that. I’ll at least skip a spot to leave some space between me and the vehicle closest to me.

Sorry about your luck OP. I would be upset too. But like others have said, it probably isn’t an expensive fix.
