Received my UPR dual valve catch can kit today. Very excited to get this thing installed and see how much more it catches compared to the Mishimoto unit.
Mine is optioned as follows:
Finish - Black
Pro series check valves
Catch can drain line kit

Ran down to Lake Worth yesterday, the owner came out and we spoke about this product and what to expect. I brought up competing companies' product and he had specific points that he felt made his superior and I feel even better about this investment. My original goal was to reduce the evaporated contaminants from going into the intake, and after almost 10K miles I'm thinking this should be the first mod a lo g term direct injection motor should get.

What I got to add to my existing single vacuum source UPR can:

For the as of yet unused port on the catch can (see it on the left):

Then the part that requires a hole in the intake elbow(unblemished elbow for reference):

In between downpours I took off the elbow since I didn't want to get a bunch of rubber material in the intake (duh), drilled out enough to keep the fitting snug and mounted it back up. There is a clamp that holds a plastic retainer piece onto the elbow you might want to replace (I did) but I'm not sure it would be needed. You might notice I put the vacuum tap a little higher - that was because the space between the ribs was larger and I didn't trust I'd get the hole centered any better. With the washer I didn't want it distorting the rubber. Clearance to the insulation is not a problem. You might spot the GFB DV+ there, no issues.

Routed the hose along side the hard line that also comes off the elbow and runs to the driver's side. Everything under the hard plastic shroud. You can't see the check valve from here.

I didn't expect a performance/mileage increase unless having cleaner air going into the cylinders would help but perhaps it does. The owner also suggested I should experience a smoother idle, which satisfies my desire for more refinement in driving.

Keep in mind this accessory as installed may cost you about $350 or so total, but I am very happy with UPR and the quality and support I've gotten.

The owner also advocated for going to a heavier weight oil, Mobil One or Royal Purple for better gas mileage and a quieter idle as well as the oil breather. When I asked if some positive pressure was designed into the motor, he felt it wasn't good for the longevity of the engine.

I suppose a check valve-equipped breather might be in my future.

These things add additional maintenance that the average Goomba may not be wanting to do, but I'm okay with it.

eyeing this setup but why is UPR offering extra check valves? are these needed, or are this spares or something? Right now I am looking at the kit + the drain kit (cus I just want to flip a valve and let it dump out the bottom) @ $309.98 from their site. Also, anyone selling this cheaper?

The billet check valves are upgraded check valves. Im not sure what the standard option is because I have the billets.
$309 sounds like their single valve set up, right? You may still have to call to purchase the dual valve kit. Steve answers the phone and he can answer all your questions.
I have the drain line kit as well and it makes it very convenient.

nah, it's the dual valve with the drain kit added. throwing in the billet check valves bumps it up to $400 +/- i think it was. thanks for the info, I had a similar setup on my f150 with 3.5L EB and it's crazy how much blow by those had.

I upgraded mine because UPR says they are more durable.

That's one of the reasons I added the GFB DV+.... it supposedly improves the longevity of the stock wastegate.

It has a built in check valve
Been turning this over in my head for a while.

Perhaps directly (via pressure valve) crankcase pressure is beneficial but once things cool off how does potential vacuum resolve itself?

Are these canisters one piece or are they threaded to separate for disassemble and cleaning? Any image of the 4 stage filtering element inside?

The billet body unscrews. Here's a pic of the filter:

Have you noticed any difference between this and the Mishimoto? Also, are you still happy with this unit?
