Maybe a class-action suit is in the future if Ford keeps doing this? Since $500 clearly doesn't cover the cost of these headlights.

I'm sure Ford is decreasing or cancelling their order for these since they aren't going on the next model year truck. My concern is replacements for trucks currently on the road when needed; Ford clearly has no supply of these for repairs so what happens when a truck hits a deer or one of the factory units goes bad under warranty?Any action I take for me will be with Ford. I am using our pseudo sponsor dealership for my purchase (the 3% under invoice dealer), so this both isn't on the dealership and the dealership has no where to go in terms of any further discount.
I do think it is an inadequate credit amount, and fully understand for how many Lariat orders in waiting this could be the deal breaker and thus resulting in a cancelled order or a rejected delivery (which in today's market will still be a sale to the dealer).
Furthermore, I would assume Ford still has these assemblies on order, so their automatic deletion without reaching out to see if a customer would choose to wait further for the parts, is a poor decision for customer satisfaction.
yep its a 500 dollar washing of hands like it didnt happen lol.Maybe I missed it; is the $500 for a full "You're never going to get it" delete or is it like the inconvenience refund they're giving us on our Explorer for shipping it without rear climate controls that will be installed down the road?
Yeah that's no bueno.yep its a 500 dollar washing of hands like it didnt happen lol.
ford tried to pull something similar to that on me when i got one of the mustangs with the cylinder walls out spec etc. said they would pay to have it scoped under warranty to prove that the piston slap and rod knock was normal operation and no damage was present but after that it would not be covered further. they changed the plan when my mechanic sent them a letter and explained his findings lol. i wish ford would just say hey we know this sucks, here 500 for the problem off your order and when the parts are in stock your dealer will install them on us. i think folks would be ok with that.Yeah that's no bueno.
Since this generation of the Ranger is coming to an end, could it be that Ford has decided to stop building the LED headlight assemblies to save the components for the next gen?You were not wrong. until this came up all Lariats did come with LED headlights. Evidently supply chain issues is causing delays so they are delivering some with halogen headlights to get them out the door. unfortunately it looks like they are not giving the buyers and option.
That’s a win. They know how much these things cost? Hopefully not just a $150 pair of replacement bulbs.I called my dealer about this, and they are going to purchase and install agreed upon comaptible LED headlights for me, as well as make any programming adjustments so they function properly.
Agreed upon as I do not expect to have them install the top of the line, but also will not accept the the entry level.
Compatible because I have seen LEDs that have been labeled as XL or XLT only, so not sure if there is some other change that is taking place outside of the physical headlight as well.
They say if the install them they will be covered in the bumper-to-bumper for 36 months, but I am also going to get that in writing.
Just a thought as a solution. Some dealers won't care, because if you walk away they will mark it up and sell t to someone else. Good (or even great?) dealers (like mine has proven to be) will want to make sure you are a satisfied customer, regardless of what Ford corporate is doing.
Now all I need is an actual production date so this actually means anything...
