Installed some lights under the hood of my 22 Tremor. Started by removing the insulation panel to expose the underside of the hood. Two of the holes that the plastic rivets go into are perfect for mounting the lights. I used these lights.

The wiring was straight forward. Simple harness with a Y for the power and ground. Since the lights have bullet connections I used motorcycle 2 into 1 connectors to run to the Tremor aux switch wires.

The results are just what I hoped, lots of light on both sides of the engine bay. Just what Ford should have done.

Too bad strobes consume so much electricity for when the hood is closed/truck is off to keep the mice out.

How hot do they get? Was thinking of having a portable kid of set up. Of course since the hood is aluminium, I can’t use magnetic mount.

The lights are rated for under hood use by KC. I drove the truck most of yesterday and checked them when I got home. The lights were warm but not so hot that I couldn't keep my hand on them. Definitely something to watch.

Here are the one's I installed, powered 100% of the time and fused and switched individually. They are panel LED's and very bright, work great.
PS Note engine cover :)

If they are powered 100% of the time, what happens when you turn off the engine? Do they just drain the battery?

Hmmm? Did you not read the part about 'switched individually.'

Yes I did read that, and was wondering how there could be power 100% of the time when a switch was turned off.
