After a few installs, like the single chanel FOB transmitter/receiver circuit I did over a year ago in my previous posts, I decided to design a different approach.
I've attached some photos of the install. I used a threaded insert that i cut down and tapered drilled the hole so as to press fit it into the rilled hole of the tab. I was a bit tedious but worked. I added a timer circuit to turn the lights of at a preset time. Activating the switch again will recyle the light timer on again in case you need more time.
The reason for the timer was to have an off state when tailgate is down for a long period of time.
Doing this type of circuit when tailgate is close creates no parasitic load current draw on the system.
