I picked this three pack of battery operated lights from Amazon. They have a magnet on the back and fit nicely inside of the tailgate under the tie downs. I put one on each side and the 3rd one I just stuck on my fridge for now. They also have a fold out hook on the back so you can hang them from something. Seems like they would be really useful for camping. I needed some lighting because I have a tonneau cover at night you really can't see much in there, but I also didn't want to have to wire anything up.

That's a pretty good solution. How strong is the magnet? Does it move when you click the button to turn it on?

The magnet is strong enough to hold it to the steel, but not strong enough to keep it from sliding when there is shaking or vibrations. Where I put them they are kind of wedged in the corner so when I press the button it doesn't really have room to move.
