I ended up just drilling 4X 3/8" holes through the bed and just bolting a sheet of 3/4 plywood (that I coated with epoxy) straight through with some big fender washers underneath. the bolts also go through the metal brackets that attach the sliders for the fridge/kitchen.How is the whole drawer system fastened to the bed underneath?
I figure the holes should be small enough (and are very evenly spaced) that if I remove the setup in the future I can just pop in some plastic plugs and they will be virtually unnoticeable.
