Maybe, but I'm never going to change my own transmission fluid, so this is all it will be used for.
Well, I am 70, and with the the dipstick I can change the fluid in the transmission in 30 minutes and never get dirty, and not spill a drop. It is easier than changing the engine oil. All done with the hood up and a couple of empty 1 gal plastic milk jugs.

However you decide to handle your situation, I wish your the best.

The dealer wanted to charge me i think like $450 for drain and fill, i picked up a Fitz-Stick and some tranny fluid and a pump Grumpaw recommended and Lubeguard. easy install and can now check, add remove if needed . IMO i think $180 for a Fitz-stick and some fluid is a hell of a lot cheaper way to go. What did the dealer charge you for their work?

I'm an old 70, and you're a young 75!

I have dear friends that I have known for years. He is 102, and she is 92. They got us both beat!

She gets around well and still drives! Both fiercely independent. He spent WWII island hopping in the Pacific. One of the few in his company to survive. He still suffers from survivors guilt. They were my parents lifelong friends. I can't recall a time where they were not around.

Thanks everybody. This forum never disappoints!

Now I just have to decide if $180 is worth it for the fitz-stick.
Like others say. Worth every penny of it. It is a must have option. :like: Proud owner of the Fitz-stick

I ordered the kit. I also ordered the Lubeguard Platinum, as well as the pump that was linked in post #3 of this thread. Hopefully that will get me everything I need.
Keep us posted.

will do.

I think I read somewhere to use 12 oz of the lubeguard platinum in my 2019. Does that sound right?

Also, maybe a stupid question, but the bottle I purchased on Amazon almost exclusively talks about GM transmissions from 6 to 8 speed. I want to make sure I ordered the right stuff. I ordered the 15oz. bottle of this: [link]

I don't think you could add too much. If you read the description, it says it can be used as an OEM replacement fluid. Personally I would just dump the whole 15oz bottle in and don't worry about it. That's what I did and it is shifting very well.

It is safe to go as high as 2oz / quart. For us, that limit is 24 oz. Talked directly with LubeGard support when I used it the first time. I've got 18oz in my transmission right now with 7K trouble free miles. The problems stopped immediately upon first use. And I mean immediately. Pulled out 7.5 qts of fluid, added back new fluid and LubeGard. Started truck and drove off. The effects were immediate.

The engine and transmission are the most mechanically complicated and most expensive to repair components on vehicles. Lubrication is absolutely critical to their longevity. Not having an easy way to check the transmission fluid is just asinine. If you do any upgrade at all to your truck, it should be the fitzstick.
