Leather is a safety item.Do you play dress up too, like all the wannabe bike gangs? LOLOL
Yeah take that restriction out and the truck will self destruct. It'll make so much boost the tranny seals will let go and the bcm will backfeed to the ecm and fry the starter relay.Ford must have had a reason for that restriction, no?
Which end is which?I'm happy I went with a very mild exhaust. I found a good deal on the Gibson and was hesitant at first hoping for something louder. After several road trips I'm very happy I went this route. I noticed a good bump in power in the top-end, but have the OZ tune.
The stock muffler is a little over engineered. I cut it open to get a look. I actually knocked the restrictor out with a jack handle and it must have blew out of the muffler because I could find it in the case.

????? not the only Path ????? please enlighten us more........ that is the only inlet side on the muffler....Misleading. That small hole is not the only exhaust path.
There are holes on the sides of the pipe in front of that restrictor. There are better pictures posted on here somewhere.????? not the only Path ????? please enlighten us more........ that is the only inlet side on the muffler....
A 4banger is more or less always gonna sound like a 4banger, especially at higher revs.I would do an exhaust if it was a V8. Being a 4 cylinder I don't want the farty fart civic sound. Is there a system that sounds good on our trucks?
The upstream input sideWhich end is which?
ya once it goes into the muffler... that restriction thou seems to be right at the opening to go into the muffler... so unless you think the exhaust goes outside and around there is only one way in to the muffler.....There are holes on the sides of the pipe in front of that restrictor. Found it. https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/i-finally-cut-open-the-oem-muffler.14263/
The restriction is not at the beginning. It’s at the other end. The perforations are before the restriction.ya once it goes into the muffler... that restriction thou seems to be right at the opening to go into the muffler... so unless you think the exhaust goes outside and around there is only one way in to the muffler.....
