My truck's OE size was P-255/65-17 with 30 psi. I saw a calculator once that said if I went to Load Range C 265/70-17 I should run 35 psi. I went with P-metric 265/70-17 and keep them at 30 psi.
Load Range D should probably run 40 psi.
My wife's Pacifica runs P-235/65-17 at 36 psi. For winter I get Bridgestone Blizzaks in the same size but they are XL Load Range, I run the same 36 psi and they wear evenly.
If you're going to run 40 psi or more you should get either heavy duty rubber valve stems or steel bolt-in stems.

Are your BFGs e rated? How did they affect your mileage vs stock?
On my 2019 I had 255/65-17 as the OEM. I went to Bridgestone AT REVO 3's in 256/70-17. It was a P Rated. I ran them at 30 PSI with no problems. Later I went to Firestone Destination XT's in 285/70-17 and ran them at 30 PSI(load range E BTW). Didn't have an issue.

Is there an ideal tire pressure for the 2019 ranger? I just had a set of tires installed:
COOPER
DISCOVERER ROAD + TRAIL AT
265 /60 R18 114H XL BSW

My original tires were load range SL, but these are XL.

When I picked up the truck, I asked the guy at the counter if I should run higher pressure in these tires because of the heavier load range. He said there was no standard and it was just up to me. Then on my way home I checked the TPMS and saw that the technician put over 40 lb of air in the tires, rather than the 30 PSI called for on the door sticker.

Does anyone know if there is a recommendation to run higher pressure due to the load range, or should I just stick with Ford's recommendation for the truck and Tire size?

Thanks.
I actually run hier load range E tires (ATTUROTRAIL BLADE X/T) @ lower pressure (26psi) than door plaque indicates (39psi?). For towing 3K pound trailer, I run @ 35psi. I feel the tires and they are not hot. No apparent heat buildup from running @ lower pressure. They are stiffer than stock tires, and running @ 'recommended" pressure makes for a very harsh ride. I use a "Slime" gouge (https://www.amazon.com/Slime-Brass-...text&ref_=fplfs&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&gQT=1&th=1 ) to measure my tire pressure. Manufacturer recommends 35psi and 65psi max for these tires.
