I'm not sure why manufactures would chose a rubber belt instead of a chain. The GM baby max has a belt driven oil pump too. Doesn't take much to burn up an engine when it has no oil pressure.
It is also in the back of the motor, requiring you to remove the transmission to replace it, assuming you don't burn up said motor.

Just get yourself a bicycle or some medication to help with your manufactured anxiety.
Or an old school circa 2005 or older vehicle and put the $$ in it to insure reliability. I assure you that it will cost much less than a new vehicle of most any kind.

I kept my old 2005 Ranger for just that reason... and I did precisely that. I now have 1 vehicle that I completely trust. My wife is urging em to find the oldie model car of my choice and do the same to it, and get rid of the new "advanced" auto that are designed to be disposable.

A blast from the future past, a 20054 model year vehicle? WTF?

We called those "Finger Checks" or the formal name of "Finger Check Exception" at IBM (vs Machine Checks, short for Machine Check Exception or MCE)

One is human error, the other system hardware error.

Ever since I purchased a high dollar German made keyboard that has the old IBM touch and click, I've had problems ... seems the key spacing is closer on the DASKeyboard than the original IBM keyboards that they tried to emulate. It is driving my muscle memory crazy.

My wife is having the exact problem.... Big mistake! And I've been looking for a replacement for 2 years now without luck.

My 2005 Ranger Edge 4.0 is still on the road today. Neighbor uses it as a daily driver.
