This truck was affectionately called the "BIGFOOT Show Pony" by everybody at Team BIGFOOT.
It was in numerous Ford truck commercials in the early part of the 80s and had a cameo appearance at the end of Police Academy 2. I think that it also had a cameo appearance in a rap video from the 80s as well.
You're right! Jim Kramer drove it in the movie then after Roadhouse wrapped up shooting, BIGFOOT 7 got a fresh paint job and hit the USHRA (United States Hot Rod Association) and TNT MOTORSPORTS racing circuits.

Same here, the first time that I ever saw the BIGFOOT truck it was Jim Kramer driving BIGFOOT 6 at Anaheim, CA in a sled pulling exhibition against Gary Collins twin engine Budweiser BOSS pulling truck. Dad recorded it on a VHS tape.
I bought my first truck in 1974, a 1970 3/4 ton Chevrolet two wheel drive four speed with a 307. No AC, no radio, just a steering wheel. I’ve had some sort of truck ever since including a 1995 Tacoma which was the biggest POS I ever sat in. Mostly Dodge from a slant six four speed D100 and including a 3500 dually five speed Cummins and even an International Scout. The Ranger is the second Ford I’ve owned, the first being an 2010 Mustang GT five speed, and I must say the Ranger has been awesome and trouble free at least the first five years. At 148,000, the center support bearing started growling so I had Ford install a new OEM shaft. Can’t complain about that.
