Looking out back from our new place. First snow of the year the other day. More lite flurries today.
Sure glade I'm retired. We had a good 10 in's. Let a neighbor park in the third stall of drive not used. He did most of the drive for me. :like:

Our road also got skipped for the Ice and snow removal this week. County blamed equipment breakdowns. Road was blocked just down from us. Other traffic tried to turn around to go back but most of them got stuck too, including two flat bed tow trucks, one Spectrum cable truck, several cars and one police cruiser. County closed the road down until they could clear up the mess. Brilliant on their part since it was impassible anyway.

That got the attention of the local news, and they set up in my driveway to do a report. Now my wife's niece and I are almost famous, being interviewed on the news.  BTW that is me checking out the "Storm tracker vehicle" it is bad ass.

There is some beauty to be found in all this.

Nissan frontier; White King cab triplets.

That’s kinda cool. Were you all headed to O’Reilly Auto Parts to get leaf spring spacers on a group buy to raise your truck beds to a proper height?

We got about 6 inches of snow followed by 3/4 inch of freezing rain which froze on contact, and then a couple more inches of snow. My mistake was clearing snow before the freezing rain started . Instead of a crust of ice on top of snow it was frozen hard on the pavement. Live and learn. I know you are an expert on the subject. Maybe next time You could be our snow removal subject matter expert.

I don't think the county and state did anything special, just lots of salt and plowing. They are calling this a once in 10 year storm. If it waits 10 years I will be 84 years old and leaving ice clearing to somebody else.

One of the primary reasons for living where I do. A short drive to the Sierras in the winter if I want to visit snow but no snow where I live.

We got 30cm of snow today.

Have to say that I grew "too old" today. Instead of just shoveling like usual, it I went and bought a snow blower. Cheap electric one, but it anycase...

Worked pretty well until I hit some buried treasure. Now it tries to blow.

(One of the padles got bent. Just some mild 2mm steel sheet. Hammered it to level and will see tomorrow how it works.)

Where I'm at I just use a leaf blower most the time.
