Hi NB,

The 200 CID car engine was a popular stationary engine converted to Natural Gas...Likely this is one of them... They were also used on Off Shore oil rigs for power generation. Oil Rigs need engines that produced minimal vibration when running and the 200 CID was low power but silky smooth running inline 6...

Phil

Oil looks good , and , damn , that's the first time in a LONG time I unlattched those oh so familiar distributor cap spring clips , had to , didn't want to but HAD to check the rotor button , looks like it was sparking a little off center but still good ...

Hi NB,

Looks like this decodes to a 4.9L (300cid) truck engine version of Ford Power Products stationary Engines..... Another Solid motor...runs for ever...bulletproof....

would the internals be the same ? Maybe a different cam for lower rpm? Or 4 bolt mains perhaps ? Or just strait truck engines ? I seem to remember a marine version that was said to be more solid , but that may be a GM I'm thinking about ...

Hi NB,

Some of the HD 4.9L had a forged crankshaft in place of the Cast crankshaft....

Best,
Phil

They hang out in my yard during hunting season.
mine too but you know... city life...:frown:

Several times I would spend the day in the woods waiting for a deer to walk past and see NOTHING! just to pull in the driveway and the herd of 9 is hanging out in the neighbors yard.

9 pointer roughly 240 pounds dressed

I bagged this guy when I was driving the hearse as a daily. I was struggling on the side of the road trying to get him in the back when a car screeches to stop and a guy jumps out. "You need a hand there?" hell ya I need a hand. he gladly helped out and we chatted for a couple minutes mainly about the 44mag Henry I used that day. 1 hell of a gun. I can shoot 4" groups at 100 yards and it can do better than that. Just that I can't. then he jumped back with a fear in his eyes as he realized what kind of car he just stuck his head in helping lift this deer. absolutely priceless. I laughed... he scurried off... dogs got a sniff.

I ended up naming him Lemmy because on the way home, I heard on the radio that Lemmy had passed away. that was a sad day to lose a metal god???

for reference brown dog 110 pounds white mutt 65 pounds
