YUCK!Almost that time again...

Been to so many Baja Races.....Grueling... Ford used to kick butt in Baja.... Thanks for the memories...Ate so much dust... This is where I introduced Ford teams to GPS way back when so we could tell where drivers were. A key strategic advantage. Exciting and tiring... No sleep... Could not do this now....too old...??not what I plan to use the truck for but that’s pretty sweet.
I've "baha'd" many a Beetle in the city during my younger days.this is more impressive
damn things were near indestructible, would go through just about anything and when they did break, cheap and easy to fix. They weren't fast but were fun.
i bet it still runs too.![]()
The Ole Ford straight 6 running on natural gas was the backup plan in this old building we are currently working in , surprisingly, it's still mostly intact...
Most likely, I don't really want or need the generator part , but would like to have the engine and frame just to tinker with , I can probably get it, it's an old Toys R Us building , they said everything goes !i bet it still runs too.

Wooden toys from same era and earlier metal toys are still usable, so why not an engine. Only the modern plastic crap, some idiot invented, breaks in few days/months/years. Even good old lead paint from 50's is still like brand new.![]()

Not sure why I didn't check the tag, I will get a pic of it tomorrow when I go over...Hi NB,
The distributor cap is of the wide spacing which started showing up on Ford engines in late 70s and early 80s...so my guess is over 40 years old, maybe 50... Necessary for HEI as we started trying to make the more stringent EPA emissions standards...The older distributor cap spacing was causing misfiring with arching between the terminals...
Best,
Phil
