Is exactly $29,000.

In less than 72 hours I will have purchased my freedom from a janked up portion of the judicial system that hates men.

Really no other point to my thread other than my ability to do the freedom scream from my lawyers office.

my ex got 24k and i was being generous.

she was retarded though. she didnt understand equity.
she felt if the house was worth 350k she would get 175K

dumb ass...we have a mortgage. that just doesnt disappear.
I'm almost certain my ex-wife will blow through that money in less than a few years, maybe less than a year, and her family can help support her at that point, that or she can manipulate some other poor male sap by that point.

Based on her court response papers regarding finances, her monthly bills exceed her incoming cash flow by quite a bit.

Her finance management was atrocious, I couldn't convince her to save $20 a pay check if her life depended on it. There was a reason I handled the finances in the household.

And the reason I despise the judicial divorce system in Georgia is she got half the equity based on the mediation date (May 2022), not the date she walked out the door (Oct 2021). So not only does she get to unjustly reap the benefit of the housing market increases over half a year, she also gets to benefit from the $10,000 in mortgage paid by me alone since she left.

My home value increased nearly $40,000 since she walked out. That is bullshit.

If I went to court I probably could have successfully got the system to lower her half based on the previous year date, but there was real concern about her manipulating a jury even with no proof of wrong doing.

My experience here only comes second hand , me and wifey met in 1981 (high school) got married in 85 , fought before wedding and still to this day , but many friends and family members have suffered through it and very rarely is it amicable... wouldn't wish it on anybody ...

congrats on the freedom! my older brothers divorce got ugly. she had a garage sale while he was at work and was selling HIS not her stuff while they were still married and living in the same house! tools, clothes, stereo and mowers etc! :explode: i drove over and put a stop to it. her boyfriend tried to make threats while i was in the driveway. i was young and in good shape then, doing one arm push ups and clappin etc. he changed his tune when i got out of the truck and confronted him. she was a sleaze bag gold digger. when they got married my parents paid for her college education and bought her a brand new car. shortly after graduation and paying for her car was when the divorce talk started. she had already had the boyfriend over a year secretly. my family could not afford to pay for my college, I drove my old truck, busted my hump for gi bill and scholarships, grants, scraped up money for used books etc. they did it for her as a gift of love and welcome to the family. dog used us from the start. i learned a lesson from watching my bro deal with all that.

I wish I had some legendary story to tell, but in her case I think she just got tired of being married to me and wanted out and wanted to cash grab everything the law would give her by force of a gun (as they say). She is a good mother (though approaching helicopter status) and I am confident there was no adultery in 15 years.

What the law says you deserve verse what is fair are two opposite ends of the spectrum. You want to walk away on short notice and shaft the other party involved? Fine, but there should have been sanctions, but alas Georgia claims to be a "fair, but equitable" state. Meaning there is no observation of the totality of the circumstances, just a chopping block with your stuff in the middle.

Mine was always calling the cops on me to say I hit her…I Never ever hit her…but she was litigious, and everybody that looked at her
was looking at a law suit. That’s how she made her money before she met me, ie, she worked as a waitress hurt her back bending over to pick up some dishes.$60;000. Fender bender $40,000….said she stopped a runaway golf cart…$10,000 et Al …
”if you’re gonna be dumb..you gotta be tough”
Anyway she got the house, and I paid $560.00 a month for eighteen years….
