I had 2 9
I had 2 Saab 9-5, a 1999 and a 2004, the 2004 seemed harder on the oil and I attributed that to the high operating temp of the engine, also had a 1986 9000 and went 250k miles until an accident killed it, but had run a compression shortly before and it was like new, had done saabs 3750 oci until 200k mile and then extended to 7k , all on mineral, engine was about as indestructible as it gets, but the big turbo on 2 liters was dog slow at 6k altitude in summer temps until the boost built, then it flew.Prior to my Ranger I drove turbocharged Saabs for the last like 25+ years. The viscosity on every turbo vehicle I have owned has been shredded by 5k and confirmed through blackstone oil analysis.
Compared to my 2.3 Saab Turbo the oil analysis on the 2.3 eco boost has consistently shown the viscosity is shot at less than 5k. Ive tested mobil 1, Motorcraft and Penzoil so far and the viscosity has tested really low on all of them at 5k intervals.
