I sent all this over to Saeb, I'm also looking at them myself (lots of good that will do).

Looking at the two AsBuilts for the XL, against my XLT, mine and the other FX4 have this block in common.

Everyone should check that block on their AB file and see if all the FX4's have the same value, and all the no FX4's have something different.

Same thing with the Lariats....And, the 760 is the ABS module. Sounds promising perhaps....

What are the as-builts showing for 726-52-xx (I will try and look at those later). These are quite different between the FX4, non-FX4 Lariats I've compared.

If I download my asbuilt from the site, how do I open it to read/look at it?

Notepad "will" do it, Notepad++ is better because you can format the ab file and properly read it.

CTRL-ALT+SHIFT+B will format the single line of XML to formatted XML.

I have been using AsBuiltExplorer and AsbuiltTool / FordAsBuiltTool to compare the files. Is there a better program to be using?

Not gotten the chance to compare what my two tools are showing as to what Forscan is showing. Would be nice if these programs were more searchable.

Sounds like it may be worth trying to change this in Forescan and see what gives.

Also, it might be that the Hill Decent code needs changing as well (as you proposed in post 63).

that is kind of what saeb eluded to as well, change everything but the vin on the abs module and see if anything errors.

there’s a small language barrier there, but I think he’s right-ish.

I need to study things more before I get there (I don't have the SW yet anyway) but heading in the right direction I think (hope).

Edit:......Still can't shake the 'feeling' that this will take more than one change in one module.....

It probably will, and that’s OK.

Saeb replied, he's really busy now, but will have time to spend on it next week. He said in the mean time someone should try the suggestion of writing FX4 ABS values to a non-FX4 truck.

Also, consider slipping him a $5 or a $10+ for his effort, I don't think we would be as far as we are without him.

I added the XL trucks to the Lariat worksheet and made a few changes along the way.

PIDs are sorted in numerical order (not as-built order). You can re-sort anyway you like tho.

LARIATS: Values for the FX4 vehicle are blank if they EQUAL the values for the non-FX4 vehicle.
If the values differ, the values for each are shown.

NA means that the pids were not available for that Lariat FX4 vehicle

XL's: All values are shown

-- means these pids are not used in this vehicle (they were not listed in the AsBuilt).

This is an excel file compatible with 97-04 programs so most everyone should be able to open it.

Keep in mind you can hide (and unhide) columns and rows and I found it useful to hide the 2nd and 3rd set of numbers for each vehicle. This makes it easier (for me) to spot differences....
