Anybody have the AM/FM with Sync radio with 6 speakers?
Especially on a Supercab.
How is the sound?
Where are the six speakers located?
"A" pillars and all four doors?? Is that the way it is on both the Sedan and the coupe?

I test drove an XLT crewcab the other day with the base stereo system, and I was rather disappointed. It came across very flat and blah. I'm happy that I'm going to be getting the B&O system as I would be actively upset with the base system.

Thanks, sometimes the quality of the sound determines the choice of the programming.
If you only listen to talk radio or prefer high quality classical It sure makes a difference.

I have the standard sound system and it sounds pretty good to me. Did you check to see if the treble, midrange, and bass settings were way down? That would make a big difference.

I did not. I assumed that it was all at factory +0 settings as I was the first one to drive it (6mi and plastic still in the seating area that the dealer removed before I was able to drive it).

wow that stinks!
I just watched a video of a guy switching from the 4.2" screen with sync to an 8" screen with sync3.
The kit retained the original radio which was reprogrammed through the OBD plug to sync3 and nav.
It was on a 2016 Fusion but it seemed pretty revealing with some things to learn...

HD was included with ordinary sync as far back a 2014 as far as I can tell, (just by checking YouTube:crazy:)
On my 2016 Sync3 there is no "button" or special designation for HD... it is either there and shows up when tuning or its not, [Gray indicator for weak signal and Gold indicator for strong signal].
Where I live there are very few stations which broadcast HD, so I usually don't hear it unless I'm on trip.
Did you sweep your tuner to check for it or just casually not see it on the screen?
I can't find any Ranger specific info that mentions it one way or the other and I hope you're mistaken!;)

Looking at the parts lists it seems as if there are 2 Reciever assemblies for the Ranger one for a single tuner and one with a dual tuner. The price difference is nearly $100. I have a feeling the part of the difference is HD radio. because none of the options in forScan I tried turned on HD radio for my reciever which I know is the single tuner and likely what they install for the non-B&O 6-speaker systems.

AMAZING! Ford Marketing strikes out again.
I simply do not understand why they would not advertise the content from bottom to top of the Ranger line. Maybe even a feature spread sheet.
I think it might actually help sell the "higher trim levels" when people saw a clear picture of the content with the features they want. It would also alleviate any disappointment or resentment from those with "higher expectations".
At least it would prevent most misunderstanding.
The result would be better for all involved.
