After piecing together multiple different scattered posts I researched over the past couple of weeks, I was able to install sway bar quick disconnects with no modification on my 2023 FX4.

Ordered JK 2.5”-6” lift Sway bar “quicker disconnects” on Amazon for about $30. They are a clone of the original JKS (made in USA) branded version for JK jeeps.

I extended the size to the same size as the stock ranger ones and installed with no modification to the Ranger. Some forum posts have reported needing to drill out the hole on the knuckle where the sway bar mounts. I did not have to do this. To ease install I greased the inside of the bushings prior to sliding them over the mounts due to a tight fit. I did not install the small 1/2” polyurethane spacers that the kit came with. I greased the zerk fittings after install and completed my first off-road trip.

Easy to takeoff at the trailhead and went back on easy on a level asphalt road near the trail head. If they break or rust or anything I will upgrade to the JKS brand ones for about $150-180.You can buy the JKS bushing rebuild kit separately for $30 if the clone bushings degrade quickly as well.

I will replace the quick disconnect pins with trailer hitch pins soon. The pins are nice but I pulled the ring out by accident by pulling too hard. I was able to put it back together with no issues, but I do not want to deal with that issue again under potentially worse conditions.

Thanks for showing that these work! Do they clink or make noise at all?

No noise, no discernible difference while driving.

some of the poor reviews on Amazon related to bushings, noise, etc may be from people not properly greasing. I have about 200 miles on them so far

ill update long term if anything changes

My guess why you didn’t have to drill is that you have steel knuckles since they have larger hardware than the the aluminum knuckles.

I thought about that too. However, the Ford part number for the end links is the same for either knuckle, so the holes must be the same diameter.

No new pictures.

have about 2000 or so miles with no issues. Did use red thread locker on the nuts as they loosened up a bit without it and made a bit of noise over bumps. The instructions do say to use the thread locker I just didn’t have any at the time.

Sent it pretty hard in ocotillo wells with the links on with no issues. Taken them on and off for trails probably 5 times with no issues. Looks like a little bit of wear on the outside of the bushings. Probably just break in wear and cause it doesn’t fit 100% perfectly where the quick release pins line up.

Install is pretty simple. You just remove the ranger sway bar links and then just follow the instructions for the jeep install. Need a torque wrench, thread locker, and a basic socket set. Allen keys to take off the original links. Also a grease gun and some grease to grease it.

I was wondering about fitment between the steel and aluminum knuckles as I have a 19 with aluminum but I confirmed that the links are the same part numbers between a 19 and 23 and the knuckles are different part numbers so these should work on either. for $30 Ill probably order a set.

I also wanted to ask do you secure the sway bar at all when you disconnect?

Yeah I have steel knuckles and the threaded part of the aftermarket steel posts fit right into the holes the OEM sway bar links came out of. No drilling. I can measure the threaded portion of the OEM links to see if they are the same size as the aftermarket threads if that’ll help.

Yeah definitely worth a shot for 30 bucks. If it doesn’t fit you can probably just return too, or drill them out of you feel frisky.

and no I have just left it where it is. The bushing hole it in place and I’ve had no knocking or anything.

I have disconnects on my 07 ranger and I never secured that thing either. Honestly I only ever even took off one link on one side and never had an issue even if I went pretty hard. Those ones were more difficult than these jeep ones though

No, it's not necessary. I ran without my sway bar end links all winter through many offroad trips. The sway bar stays put.

Got mine installed today, aluminum knuckles no issue installing, pretty easy to do but I also have a 2 post lift and all of the tools. The upper had quite a bit of gap between the knuckle and the link so I used the provided bushing there (picture taken before I installed the bushing). the keeper pin was a little tight going in and had to push through a little of the rubber lip. I don't have much faith that those pins will stay in place but they survived the 22 mile trip home from work.

Im going out to do a jeep badge run next weekend so I will test how easy they are to remove and install then.

I applied blue loctite to each pin, I thought about red but I want to be able to remove them later.

Mine are sitting on the workbench, ready for installation. The factory links have been removed for the past 7 months. I can't wait to try these. I'm tired of wallowing steering feel.

I did a 700 mile round trip with them and the pins didn’t budge.

I installed a set today also couldn't turn down the prime day $25 deal. Did the front lift today so perfect time to install the quick disconnect links.
