What are the Ranger build options which cause production delays? I am hearing spray in bedliner, but are there others? AGM?
AGM is not a delay.

I'd reccomend watching Tim from McArthur Ford on YouTube livestream where he updates on constraints.... I haven't watched him in a couple of weeks but besides the lariot 501 and xl 101 I don't think there were any other constraints.... It is also about the allotment for each accessory - if they only plan for 5% to get an accessory and 20% order the accessory it could slow your build down.

I would imagine the XL 101 is a "constraint" because it is a low margin build and they would rather push out higher margin cars.

I asked Tim directly last week and he said just the Lariat 501A is a hold-up at the movement.

That makes sense, possibly not higher margin though, but more popular...

Interesting, wonder what is holding that up.

Sounds like they planned 0% production of 501A, but honestly I tuned him out when he didn't mention anything on my order haha

I must be desperately looking for any glimmer of hope that my truck will ship soon. I've been in Awaiting Shipment status for 5 days. For the last several days, there have been 10 similar vehicles in the same status (according to the Order Track app). Tonight it dropped to 9.....so I'm hoping at least 1 truck has shipped!
For the vast majority of us shipment of a new vehicle in going to involve railroads for part of the trip. And that is NEVER a good thing unless it "absolutely positively don't make a shit if you ever receive it." (Quoted piece is what I've always envisioned being the railroad corporate mission statement.) And on top of it, if that railroad is CSX... look out. That takes it to a whole other level of shitshow. Even the FRA inspectors laugh (behind the scenes) at the level of f***ed upness that defines CSX daily.

Lastly the truck drivers making the final delivery have a fair amount of leeway as to what they load. I would assume the Ranger isn't too bad so don't think that freedom negatively impacts us. But heaven help you if you are waiting on a dually! Those truck drivers hate those things.

Just remember that even though it is "shipping" that it does a lot of time sitting. Even back before all the covid issues, in 2019 - my truck took 21 days to ship to the west coast and of those 21 days it spent over 10 days just sitting, not moving.
That's a railroad for you!

But the grave yard, I mean rail yard, is a fun club to be in! lol

3-4 days of mine sitting there with no additional updates. Still ahead of the original ETA, so not too concerned yet.
Probably a homeless guy sleeping in it. Good ol' rail.

Welp, I'm out ?. They changed our pay structure here at work a couple months ago and I am now starting to see the ramifications of it. I could probably make the payments, but not comfortably, (even with the DP I have) and in this current economy I'm not willing to chance it. I really appreciate all who have answered my questions and maybe in the future if something changes I can get a used one.

I'll be posting some stuff for sale soon if anyone is interested lol.

Bummer!

This is one of the reasons I have waited since ~Feb 2020 to order a vehicle...

We look forward to having you back, maybe on the 6th Gen forum. LoL

Hope the payscale balances and you have more room in the budget. It is easy to forget how "lucky" (not the right word) we are to be able to afford a new vehicle in this economy...

Sorry to hear ?. I'm sure your dealer will be happy to take possession, mark it way up, and screw over some unsuspecting consumer.

So, uh, whatacha selling? Lol
