There's a Simon & Garfunkel song with the lyrics....."it took me 4 days to hitchhike from Saginaw..."

Well, the convoy with my Ranger has been on the road for 5 days and STILL isn't here! :frown:

My truck has made it to the dealer! Time to clean her up, remove those decals on the side and tailgate, and get ready to sign a million pieces of paper this weekend. Can't wait to get behind the wheel.

Window sticker day! Right on target with the ~10 day before build. 12/9 blend date which is the build date my dealer showed, I had the ol ā€œweek of 12/5ā€ deal. Sadly looks like MSRP went up exactly $1000 from my order sheet…. I assume that’s been the same for everyone else? Edit: and no LED delete for those who have been interested, stoked on that.

Must be an omen though, tomorrow I’m supposed to take another look at a Gen1 raptor after being detailed out. Probably would have made an impulsive decision lol.

My MSRP didn't change. Maybe a Tremor thing (mine is an XLT)? What about Price Protection...doesn't that cover you?

Took a closer look and it appears it’s on the base MSRP of the truck 39,945 vs 40,945. Could be a Lariat thing I suppose, or maybe yours got in before an increase haha.

I’ll ask my guy about any kind of price protection. I’m sure if it can it will be applied, but I’m not sure how that works with base pricing, think that’s more to ensure one gets the promotions/rebates when they ordered. But you hear this and that like everything else in the Matrix.

I know they started doing a thing for the converted Bronco orders where they give one of two possible credit amounts based on when you ordered to help offset the new higher pricing.

In any case I’m just happy it’s moving along and sooner than I had envisioned when ordered. Probably a long shot but last I was told it still showed a potential 12/24 delivery; fingers crossed for a Ranger under the tree!

I wonder how many dealers aren't going to let their order customers know about price protection, and how many will get suckered into paying more than what it was when they ordered.

I think it is safe to assume 99.9% of dealers will try to screw their customers out of price protection.

And I would wager 50% of buyers won't know any better.
I wouldn't have....which is why I have this forum to thank for educating me!

Update directly from the shipper bringing my truck.......

"Looks like the Cab that your load was on went into the shop for a repair that was supposed to be completed quickly and it turned into a multiple day job, Our dispatchers are aware and working to move the load to another cab to complete the delivery, that is why ford was able to give you an updated timeframe."

Frustrating, but at least they are responsive and transparent.

I hadn’t! Well, not to that detail at least.

Spoke to my salesman, he said I’d be locked in to the price I ordered at, so that’s a relief.

Time to start getting some stuff gathered up for it, I’ve been hesitant to buy anything with it being not much more than an idea lol.
