I see there’s a lot of 4 door rangers that have been modded out. Is the suoercab inferior to the super crew when it comes to some balancing or something for Offroad? I never see any super cab builds!

No, I think that is right. Same frame, different cab/bed. I haven't modded my scab much but wanted a 6' bed and didn't need 4 doors. I think the scab has longer front doors, so that's a plus to get in the front. I love having the hinged rear 'doors' for easy access to the back of the extended cab area, and if I need to cram another human back there, well, it won't be meI don’t think it’s inferior in anyway, if I’m not mistaken it’s the same exact truck except one has more seating space in the back and a 5’ bed and one has less space with a 6’ bed. It seems people prefer having a little more space for passengers or just like the look of a four door truck. I could be completely wrong but that’s what I understand. There’s a super cab love thread if you are looking for other modded super cabs specifically.
I also wanted the longer bed as I just barely fit when I sleep back there with the tailgate closed. In addition, those rear doors are great but like you said, they really are for just small people or very short rides if someone is crammed back there. No, I think that is right. Most people don't like having scabs, but love to screw.I think you’re seeing so many modified Screws and not Scabs because there are just that many more Screws out there as a general rule. Some folks on here have reported no difference in ride quality. Same frame and wheelbase - Screw only weighs a couple hundred pounds more, so there shouldn’t be any noticeable difference. Check out SuperCab Love forum.

I think I read scabs where like 15-20% of sales, so yeah, not many of them. It was exactly what I wanted but it took a while and a 3 hour drive to finally get it. That was right before the bottom dropped out of inventory at the end of March, so I got a really good deal IMO on a truck that had been on the lot for 4 months. Had more options that I wanted, but I'm not disappointed.I also wanted the longer bed as I just barely fit when I sleep back there with the tailgate closed. I think most people have a use for an extra two “real” seats and will sacrifice bed length.
That’s crazy how little percentage scabs are. Oooh I’m glad you found the truck you like AND with a good deal ? I was the exact same way, I couldn’t find a lariat scab for a week and then when I did find one they had it on the lot for a while so it had all these extra add ons for free essentially with the reduced price. Now it makes more sense as to why I couldn’t find them, they really don’t make up the bulk of truck sales for ford.I think I read scabs where like 15-20% of sales, so yeah, not many of them. I seem to find that it’s a mixture of the look of the Supercrew and the utility of it, both being great positives for most. Whereas, an extra foot of the bed has limited uses. Was your Taco a 4 door too? Iirc, there’s about 6-10 inches of extra room in the back passenger cabin vs Tacoma when the Ford sales guy was giving his sales pitch. If this weren't my only vehicle I would've considered a Scab. I'm the oddball and would still like a 5' bed and personally think it looks better. I needed the rear 2 seats for when guest and my parents come out and while they're not very large people they say it's much more comfortable back there than my Tacoma was.
I tend to notice after a few car purchases you have to do some good looking to find the one you want with add ons somewhere and just wait on the impulsiveness just a little bit. Of course, the market is very odd right now but in the general sense of things before covid it was like that. The plus side of finding a car not custom ordered is the incentives they can tack on! Such a good find for you to locate the truck you want before it even touched the lot, the extra research/time pays off.SCABS are most definitely harder to find. Especially XLT’s. Sometimes the truck you want with all the extras you like gets built and is sitting there waiting for you to find it. In my case it was enroute from the factory on a truck 2 days away. Called and dealer said it’s yours if you want it. 2 hours later I gave them a deposit. When I picked it up they said good thing you deposited, 3 other customers wanted that truck. It never saw their lot!
Yes my Tacoma was also a 4dr. I don't remember the exact specs and honestly never spent any time back there but I had it just over 3 years and the first time my parents got into my Ranger they noticed the difference.I seem to find that it’s a mixture of the look of the Supercrew and the utility of it, both being great positives for most. If they noticed a difference immediately then it has to be a good margin over the tacos back space.Yes my Tacoma was also a 4dr. If I had a Scab I just think it would look meaner with a 5' bed, lifted and larger tires. It might not be the most practical set up which is why Ford probably didn't produce it but it would look killer.![]()
