I had the 110 volt outlet in the rear of the consul quit working. I replaced it and thought that maybe the LED night light had done some damage to it, so I've been using the "button" to turn it off.

I downloaded the ForScan software and ordered the recommended adapter.

The. adapter came yesterday and I was all set to go out and just turn that feature off.

This morning I needed to drop my dog at the groomer, and I realized, the start stop little grey circle with the line was coming on when I started the truck. And yes, the truck was no longer doing the start stop thing. Hummmm.

I drove it around town this morning doing lots of stopping when doing errands and not once did the engine stop, and every time I would stop, the grey circle with line would come on until I took off again.

it's almost like the truck "knew" I was gonna do ForScan and this was it's way to keep me from learning it's secrets ... LOL. I checked the 110 plug in, it is wired to the truck, I checked the little plug on the battery terminal and it is plugged in. The truck wasn't in Sport mode.

I'm at a loss as to why? Not that I mind it don't doing it, but, I kind of wonder if something is "broken". I quit counting at twenty stops that the engine stayed running, then I gave up counting.

Any thoughts?

With lots of city driving, my AS/S doesn't operate. When I select the menu, it says "Vehicle Charging".

I suppose that could be it, but, I think I might do the ForScan thing and disable the double honk too.

Question:
Your replaced the electrical 120VAC plug? Does the 120VAC outlet work now?

Have a look at your owner’s manual. There are a number of conditions in which it stays off. Also, as @Joeiconic and @DHMag have said, your battery may be weak or charging. I hope it’s only happening because your A/C is on MAX.

Four words... Battery starting to fail. Good luck getting Ford to replace. Mine tested 'Excellent" on their Ford approved tester. A visit to Costco for a replacement battery solved all my system shutting down issues.

More than likely that's it. When I bought my Ranger it was the end of July here so AC was always on max. Towards the end of September I turned it down and one day at a red light it just shut off. I totally forgot about A/S/S because it won't come on with the AC on max.

I also use a battery maintainer several days during the week because of the heat here and some weeks I just don't drive it much. I did get my battery replaced back in April, it already had a dead cell.

It’s so easy to put a jumper in the wire connector. Pop out the switch and put a jumper between the purple wire and the white wire with a purple stripe. But make sure you engage the start stop first because it remembers the last position. You do this where the wire harness plugs into the switch on the opposite side of the connector from the switch. I did it once and it didn’t work because I didn’t know you had to engage the start stop first. So like a dummy I paid $80 for a connector that plugs in between the switch and the wire harness which does the exact same thing. It didn’t work at first and I emailed the guy that makes him and he told me I had to engage it first so I paid $80 for a little jumper wire and a fancy connector. You can go by the start stop illuminator for about $80 like I did… I found a coupon when I did mine for like $10 off or something like that so you can try that also.

I wonder? I've owned my 2019 for over 18 months, and the auto start/stop have never actually functioned. I do keep the AC button on year-round, so perhaps that's the reason it doesn't.

Maybe your battery is weak.

I agree. The same message popped up on my Jeep when the ASS (gotta love that abbrevation) stopped working. The battery crapped out.
