The sound system on my XLT sucks what is a decent upgrade of the speakers that will give me more clarity and overall improvement. Not looking to rattle the windows for 5 blocks just a decent speaker upgrade.

I have thought the same thing, actually.
In fact, I feel like the speakers on my '19 ranger were better than those on my '21.
Hopefully there's an easy solution (plug and play kind of thing) that won't cost an arm and a leg to buy and have installed.

Also in for this. Don’t want anything insane. Just some better speakers I find everything gets washed out at higher volumes.

I went with the Focal Integration IS Ford 165 both front and rears, not cheap, but worth every penny and couldn't be happier. Install was simple since its plug and play with existing speaker plugs and mounts. You will lose a bit of db but still plenty of power from the stock HU to drive them at high volumes.

If I had to do it over again after hearing the amount of mid bass they put out, cancelling the need for a small under seat sub, I might have gone with the Focal Flax Evo. Slightly less sensitivity at 2.83vdc (91.5 vs 91.7) but more range. But for the amount of time I'm in the vehicle, and what I listen to, it would be a tough choice to spend the extra money.

I'm not sure what the sensitivity is of the stock speakers. But to try and give an idea between the Focal's and Stock. If your normal listening volume was 12, then it becomes 14. The scale is not linear though. Due to the increase in clarity of the Focal's, higher volumes just seem louder. If I crank up a song like "So Far Away / Dire Straits" the side mirrors easily shake with solid mid bass and vocals are crystal clear. But most of that is just good production on the album.

Did you do all 6 speakers including the tweeters?

I second going with Focal. Did fronts and rears and swapped the tweeters. They by no means make anything rattle. But the clarity was what stands out to me the most. Very crisp and clear. Plus the small LS7 8" sub I have puts out PLENTY of sound/bass. All with a stock head unit too :)

Crutchfield gives you the adaptors too. Focal are nice but pricey. Those from stage 3 are probably ok with a 90 sensitivity rating. The three I liked in a previous post are 92. The higher number the louder they go before they distort. Somewhere on here it was said moving the tweeter from the stock location above the door skin to inside the lower speaker compartment (not using a component speaker) hurts the sound quality. I had to cut the connector for the tweeter off. If you go with a set up with a cross over box you can run a separate wire down from the tweeter location to the crossover an not cut the connector.

Whatever you do, don't get the Kicker speaker kit from Stage 3. They actually sound worse than the stock speakers. (no bass) I've upgraded many stock speakers over the years with good results. This was a complete waist of $ and I will eventually replace them with something better.

I replaced the door speakers with JL Audio C1-650 in the front and Focal RCX-165 in the rear. Then I put a Kicker powered 8 inch sub between the rear seats. Crutchfield supplies all adapters. Just replacing speakers on the base unit was a significant improvement, and the sub gives adequate punch in the scab.
