Exactly what I would like to do. The 3” all the way along with a resonator is exactly what I was looking for. Let us know how the install and performance are!

I should be receiving my AFE catted down pipe this week. Is anyone having any codes pop up?

As tight as you can make it would my suggestion. The bolts that hold the DP to the turbo outlet are a MAJOR pain to access, so tighten them down until they won't tighten no more, drink a cold beer and hope you never have to take them off again. This is my recommendation based off my personal experience installing an SPD down pipe.

PSA - update your tune accordingly, as you will most likely get a check engine light with an upgraded downpipe since the O2 sensors in the downpipe will now be reading more airflow than the factory calibration. There are also considerations to the fuel tables, since you'll be making more boost than stock.

That sucks. I have the FOrd Performance tune. No upgrade for that. I also have the gibson duel exit exhaust and a Rousch CAI.
Maybe the combo wont pull codes

I cannot say, I am a recreationalist not a professional. But here's what Anthony at Livernois (who is a professional) said when I asked what has to be "changed" in the ECU to accommodate an upgraded downpipe.

"The tune update requires some adjustments to the rear o2 sensor readings to take that higher flowing catalyst into account along with some other proprietary calibration changes to optimize performance further. Since these vehicles are speed density and do not run a traditional Ford MAF like a 5.0L mustang would for example, there are no tune adjustments needed for many of the common bolt on mods that affect air / exhaust flow including charge pipes, cold air intakes, and cat back exhausts as well. Speed density vehicles such as this come factory equipped with a wideband o2 and MAP sensor based monitoring systems that allow the to adapt and adjust on the fly as needed where the ECU is able to adjust timing and boost accordingly to take full advantage of cooler more dense air charge entering the system. The most common mods that do entail new tune adjustments would be the higher flow downpipes, cooler thermostats, methanol injection, upgraded turbos, fuel systems, etc."

I've seen other members post about not having a tune and still running a downpipe so it is possible it seems. Again if you get a CEL, it's probably just that O2 sensor.

I will say that by having the FP tune, you should definitely be in better shape running a DP than just a stock tune since everything is dialed up anyways, so best of luck and let us know how it goes. Get ready for some more noise and pull! ?

How much more noise? its not going to be ridiculous is it? I really dont want to be driving a jet powered weed trimmer around.

Not ridiculous at all - very tame in Drive. Sport is still Sport, meaning the deceleration drone is still there. If it's too loud, you can always grab a universal resonator from someone like Borla and have it installed on your exhaust somewhere between the downpipe and the read axle. No loss of power just a quieter exhaust note.

Patiently waiting on mine. Was advised it’s a 2-3 week turn around after ordering. Coming up on 2 weeks so hopefully any day now it ships.

Mine was ordered June 22nd and was delivered 8 days later on the 30th. Really happy with the turnaround for mine.
