I would say no. I did the same and didn't realize there was a deep and shallow so I added 8.5 like the video I was following but I kept reading high. (Way above the 4-5 on dip stick). Then I looked more into it and confirmed I had the shallow one. Took out 2 quarts (thank you drain plug) and now...
