Do you have a picture of the cover? Just curious to see it, the only pictures I've seen show the engine without any cover.

Thanks for the pictures. Without the cover I see several bosses that are used for mounting the cover. So it can be added later.

Just read the engine shroud (beauty cover) will only come on the Lariats. XLT and below models will be naked. True?
If so are the mounts still present so the shroud can be added later?

This is true and I can confirm the mounting points are still present. I test drive an xlt last night.

My thinking is that the cover has sound insulation under it and makes the Lariat models a little more quiet coming from the engine compartment.
Those direct injection pumps really clackety clack.

If the XLT comes without the shroud, I wonder if it can be purchased direct from a dealer and installed. Anyone familiar with the idea?

I went for a test drive in a Lariat yesterday and took a closer look at the cover/shroud. It appears to be made entirely of a high density foam, and apparently its purpose is to deaden the sound from the fuel injection system. It's too bad that Ford doesn't include it on all Ranger models.

It's Ford just being cheap. For 2019 Ford removed the F150 2.7L engine shrouds on the XL/XLT's too.
