  1. SOLVED: Engine Shroud Cover Missing On XL and XLT Trims?

This is true and I can confirm the mounting points are still present. I test drive an xlt last night.
  2. Your Thoughts after First Test Drive

I did a test drive tonight of an XLT FX4, arrived at the dealer an hour before I got there. Positive: I was mostly impressed with it. It handled well, like an SUV, and rode good, like a well put together truck. Had good steering feel too. Acceleration was good, didn't get on it being brand new...
  3. Insurance Rate

I find that really interesting, as I had Progressive with a '16 Tacoma and traded for an '18 CX-5 and saw my insurance go from $1200 a year to $650 a year - almost ½. Most everyone I've talked to confirmed that truck insurance can run up to double most other vehicles, sans luxury and sports cars.
  4. 2019 Ford Ranger Reviews Compilation

This guy is really full of it. He got numerous facts wrong that I picked up on, including the power rear window. He also wrongly called out the competition several times with specs and features that are in fact available on the competition. Additionally, $42,500 for that truck in my opinion is...
  5. SHADOW BLACK Ranger Club Thread

Do you know if the synthesized sound can be turned off in a setting? Is it that way on the Focus RS?
  6. #fakenews: DIYers Take Note – the 2019 Ford Ranger’s Oil Change Procedure Contains a Big Extra Step

I haven't drove a Ranger yet, so I don't know, but based on the reviews, I'm convinced on the part of the driving position at least. I enjoyed my 2016 Tacoma Off-Road manual transmission, except for the driving position, I never could get comfortable behind the wheel. In comparing a manual...
  7. #fakenews: DIYers Take Note – the 2019 Ford Ranger’s Oil Change Procedure Contains a Big Extra Step

https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2019/01/diyers-take-note-the-2019-ford-rangers-oil-change-procedure-contains-a-big-extra-step/ This is ridiculous. Need to remove the left wheel, open a compartment, and remove a shield just to get to the oil filter. This makes it a real hard sell for me.
  8. Things I feel are missing/or needed on a Ranger

I’m not getting the big deal on the brake controller. You can get an aftermarket one installed or a ford accessory one installed at the dealer. The ford accessory brake controller intergrates really well next to the shifter and looks factory.
  9. Things I feel are missing/or needed on a Ranger

The '06 F-150 super crew is within inches of the new Ranger dimensionally, and they have quite a resemblance. The Ranger is only about 6" narrower and about 6" shorter accounting for the 6" shorter bed. The Ranger produces more HP and TQ then the standard v8, and isn't too far off from the 5.4...
  10. Things I feel are missing/or needed on a Ranger

Agreed on the rear seat, this is the big issue that might keep me from getting a Ranger. The 3rd Gen Tacoma's 60/40 split fold flat rear seat lets me fit my dog crate with seating for 3 or space for gear in the truck. With the Ranger, I wouldn't be able to get my Gunner Kennel in, so I'd be...
  11. Best Price Dealerships

Of course it is regional too. The Tacoma is not an overall big seller in the Mid-Atlantic and New England. So you can get much better deals there versus on the West Coast where they regularly sell for MSRP or higher. I'm curious to see how the Ranger sells in my area, where I was able to get...
  12. Best Price Dealerships

I’m really surprised to see that around $3,500 is the most dealers are knocking off MSRP. I’m hoping to get around $10,000 off when I’m ready to purchase late 2019 early 2020. I bought a custum order 2016 Tacoma, first year of the 3rd gen, and got $5,000 off MSRP with no manufacturer incentives...
