Considering a mild brake upgrade due to the amount of mountain driving I currently do and soon to add a small camping trailer, less than 2000 pounds.

Never had a great deal of confidence in the factory brakes. They just don’t feel right. Already had to have warped rotors replaced all around.

Considering this kit:

Any thoughts from anyone who has used this product or a similar one?

I paid about the same for the R1 Concepts pads and rotors. I was happy with them as a small upgrade, and they ran great until I jumped to the Wilwood big brake kit.

I would do a few things to start.

#1 I would make sure you have fresh brake fluid(dot 4 preferably) and a nice brake bleed(including the ABS Bleed).

#2 is to use Engine Braking more often. Though the 2.3 EcoBoost isn't the best at it, it still helps especially with Tow Mode.

#3 is to make sure you have more than enough room in front of you.and to keep Braking as easy as possible. This will help reduce Rotor Warping.

#4 is to always get Quality Rotors. OEM is usually the best option. Another good option is EBC if available(not talking about the Slotted and Dimpled Rotors BTW).

I tried EBC rotors on a Mustang and they were trash in less than a year.

I've used PowerStop brakes on a shit Chevy Tailblazer and an awesome Audi S5. They always held up well and did a better job than OEM.

I've used that same product on another truck and had nothing to complain about.

Always !!!

I grew up thinking the Dukes of Hazard were a couple of pussies. I was surrounded by dirt & gravel country roads as a kid with 5 months of snow / year. It was Walker Evan's Heaven.

I learned motocross before I learned to drive. "You're either 100% on the throttle or you're 100% on the brakes. None of that in between shit." - Gary Semics: 1974 AMA National Champion

Semics was the person that taught me how to ride a dirt bike back in 1979 through 1985. Mean bastard ! If you weren't perfect on the 2nd try he'd yell at you. I'm like, "I'm 10 dude." But a great teacher.

Everything I know about how to make something with wheels and a motor go fast,,, I learned from him.

Power Stop makes a fine brake put them on my 2013 F150 after the trash pads Ford used screwed up my original rotors. If you have ever had a 2013 Ford you would know what I am talking about.
