My brakes aren't bad, per se, but they aren't good either. I get a lot of noise out of the factory brakes, and they could perform better.

On my next oil change, I am going to see if the dealer will do a brake fluid flush under warranty, for the squishy brake pedal.

Besides that, has anyone found pads/rotors that improved the performance of the brakes without being a big brake kit (BBK) that costs $2000+? Maybe slotted rotors and better pads? I have searched just about every site I can think of and they are either discontinued or the company doesn't make anything for our Rangers.

What do you do with your truck? Off-road? Towing? Lead foot?

yes, no, yes.

I wheel, a lot. I have a bed rack, sometimes a RTT, camp gear, 33" tires, blah blah blah. Basically, I am heavier than stock, but not crazy heavy.

Give it up on the mushy brakes. I have had mine in twice under warranty for this and they claim the brakes test as OK. It is simply scary how weak the brakes are. I drive a different rental car each week for work and have never seen a vehicle truck or car with the mushy brakes like my 2019. It is a common complaint on the Ranger but there are threads in this forum for fixing the brakes using a laptop to force and internal break bleed of some kind. Curious to what you find out on this.

I’ve done this and it worked for awhile. I’ve heard good things about bleeding brakes, you’re the first to say that it doesn’t work. I’m thinking that bled brakes and better pads/rotors will make a good combo.
