What's that long, slender piece to the right of the photo? Also, no gas tank skid in the kit?

It all looks pretty beefy! Paint them red.
Long piece is the horizontal bracket that ties in the last skid. Here it is installed on their pic. I'll have my own pics soon. No gas tank skid. No red, haha, too flashy. I actually really like the natural patina. Hope you and the family are doing well and staying safe Pat!

Where did you get these? I was looking into aftermarket skids
They're Shrockworks skids! Took about 9 weeks but they're super nice. I already have their sliders and am really happy with those so stuck with them for skids

I hadn't seen them installed before - they look industrial-grade! How much does the entire kit weigh?

We're doing well up here in NorCal, Mike - you guys be safe, and quit bar-crawling for a while!

Yeah, definitely. Laying low as much as possible. Glad you guys are well.

I oped for the full steel skids, weight says 130lbs combined. Like having a small person in the car at all times. At least the weight is low lol

I also got mine in this week. I just finished painting them with rustoleum hammered black. I can't wait to install them and bash them against rocks. They appear plenty strong.

Also you can go with aluminum for the back half skids. So your Main Skid and crossmember are beefy steel, and the less like to hit skids are aluminum and save 45 lbs, which is a lot of extra water/fuel to go further. I would highly recommend that if you aren't going super hard on the gnarliest of trails.

Also the aluminum is beefy as all get out too!

I'm go Por15 with the UV coat for the sliders, my buddies have had good luck with it and is easy to maintain... I'm just wondering order of operation, to see if either the sliders or the skids have holes they share or potentially interfere with. LMK how the install goes
They don't use the same frame rail holes, but I highly recommend drilling the horizontal cross member into the frame.

With that in mind, I think I would still do the sliders first, since the skids will limit your access to the inside the frame rail for the front slider mounting plates and hardware. My buddy dropped the stick nuts into the frame rail the used a magnet to get it lined up to the 3/8 holes we drilled for the lower bolts.

Overall install was pretty straightforward. I will cut the extra tow hook pieces off later or not at all depending on when I get a front bumper. Leave everything finger tight so you can make minor adjustments, but the carriage bolt install makes it pretty smooth.

I wish they were still doing a group buy for the sliders here. Coupon doesn't work anymore too.

Any one know if a group buy is coming up? My wife is pregnant and is starting to bug me on my truck being to hard to get into... Also if no group buy is coming up soon does anyone know of a company with less lead time. Shockworks said 3 weeks, Rocky road said 6 :(

ARB supposedly has steps but I don't know where you get them. Maybe 4wheel parts.
