So, Just an fyi, Shipping has fallen through for me, I can't seem to find a way to make it work at a reasonable rate. I will entertain Local pickup at a discount, new price, local pick up only $125
Most folks I know who have done this on other cars have aftermarket suspension and have the valving tuned to account for this. The truck will wallow and wobble more, but if the suspension is set up right, then it should be good, but ymmv
I think there is some issues with the angle of the bars. The dimple plate adds stiffnees and protects the truck from splashes. Shrockworks agreed there is a problem with mine and is providing a fix in a new set of sliders. They are responsive on the phone and understand these are meant for hard...
Actually, gotta change my stance here by a lot. I don't think Shrockworks responds to email well, but their phone support is solid. Just got off the phone and it looks like they'll have a fix for me in a bit.
Basically I'm, going to pull out the angle grinder and pull off the point that is standing tall, but it is just frustrating to put this much effort into them. I chose to paint em myself due to the ease of repair vs powder coat, and It just feels like a lot more hours of work to go
I'm a little bummed with shrock right now, contacted their support 2 weeks ago and still haven't got an answer back... I bought these to protect my rig off-road and have additional jack points with my high lift. Install went smoothly, but when I tested out the high lift, the sliders flex and...
These are not perfect, but happy to sell with hardware for $200 for the package. Light scuffs on the bash plate and some more serious marks on the tcase skid, but still tons of life left.
Will ship on buyer's dime. Located in the bay area.
They are body protection first, so they are tucked up out of the way. You can totally put your weight on them, you can lift the car by them with a high lift jack! They just are not as comfortable to stand on as a dedicated step. So, if you want protection, sliders are the way to go. Right tool...
There is something about supporting a local fabricator and building a relationship. I was trying to do this with a local know Toyota fabricator due to their reputation and ability, but there wasn't the interest. Also from looking at White Knuckle, they've got a ton of customization options...
Thanks for compiling the options! One note, I'd probably drop the ADD option from the list, last i checked they mounted to the cab and are just glorified side steps instead of real frame sliders.
Also you can go with aluminum for the back half skids. So your Main Skid and crossmember are beefy steel, and the less like to hit skids are aluminum and save 45 lbs, which is a lot of extra water/fuel to go further. I would highly recommend that if you aren't going super hard on the gnarliest...
I'm go Por15 with the UV coat for the sliders, my buddies have had good luck with it and is easy to maintain... I'm just wondering order of operation, to see if either the sliders or the skids have holes they share or potentially interfere with. LMK how the install goes
Skids and sliders en route, however I've got to paint mine as I wanted something easier to touch up than powder coat, rattle can doesn't stick well to beat up PC. After much digging, going to go with por10 and then top coat it with a uv stable hard coat. Should be the most rust resistant, but...
you can use the demo version for free to get it done, then pay if you want to tinker more
edit: yeah you got to buy the dongle, but it has other uses too for around 50 or so
Will the rears work with a camper shell... I know sounds silly, but Vagabond outdoors makes a super serious setup, and I'd love to go widebody/long travel + have a sleep system. The concern comes from how it attaches to the bed rails and not sure if the weight would warp or mess up the bedsides
