I find it hard to believe they will ever recoup the cost of bringing this ranger to the US for only 2 years.
The New Ranger will be totally new! Same platform as the Bronco. Should be a great Pickup! Here’s a render of what it might look like.
It's mostly not new. They spent a little money, but mostly on the drivetrain that they're putting in the bronco and the next ranger...so a bunch of that gets written off as showing the market what a turbo 4 and a 10 speed can do in a truck. They also make some money selling this ranger, they get back some market share, they get a better handle on pricing the next gen, and they keep the plant busy. Seems like a good investment for Ford. Current thinking is that they'll announce the next gen in 2021 as a 2022 model. In the end we get a decent truck for three years instead of having to wait.
That would be a wicked little truck with the 2.0 turbo engine!
Which is the same size as an old full size, and that leaves room for a compact that will be the same size as the old Ranger, and that leaves room for a mini that will be the same size as the old Courier, and that leaves room for . . . I just don't know anymore. I'm so confused.
