Hello everyone,

I just had a set of Bridgestone Destination LE3s installed on my 2019 XLT 4x4, I went up from the stock 265/60/R18s to 265/65/R18s since I read that was a safe upgrade on a stock suspension. The change came after I got a flat and ran the full size spare for a few days, is it possible that the TPMS sensor isn’t pair properly or I need to have my speedometer recalibrated? Or is this a separate issue from the new tires?

For what it’s worth I also got an oil change and I trust this mechanic.

I downloaded the service manuals but I don’t even know where to look since I don’t have an OBD2 scanner at the moment.

Any ideas?

You will need to get the DTC codes to troubleshoot. You can download the Forscan program and purchase a USB adaptor for the OBD II port and read the codes.

Thanks, just ordered the scanner. I think it’s in Limp mode but not sure why.

A set of tires, no matter how big, would not throw a CEL. I'm interested to see what the code is, but I would bet that its coincidental.

Limp mode makes this more interesting.

I feel like there is a good chance the mechanic broke something, it’s been out of the shop for a week though and has driven fine. I’ve had them do work for me numerous times and never had an issue. There is a thread discussing essentially my situation on a Transit forum and most people advise a .5 inch larger tire can’t be the issue, more likely that a wire or sensor is loose/damaged.

will update when I can.

When I had a CEL and went in to limp mode, it was a sensor on the engine. I hope its easy. Let us know what the code is.

3 quick visual checks without a scanner

1. Since recent oil change, check Oil Level as precaution
2. Highly likely they pulled and checked the air filter, check the IAT sensor connector that is near the filter box.
3. Check the Clutch Fan - wiring harness and the support hose

Swing by AutoZone or Oreilys and get the code checked. Faster than the obd2 dongle.

Auto stores code readers are limited to common DTCs. Ford specific codes will probably not be read. Depending on what code the OP has, the auto store may not decipher the code. Forscan will detect all DTCs on the Ranger.
