Maybe you should look into a pedal commander. I've never owned one, but it might do what you're looking for, and not void the warranty.do these tunes void the factory warranty ? i gotta do something , hate the way it lugs in drive and sport is a little too much for everyday...imo...
The ford performance tune is great. With it drive is much better, shift points are perfect IMO and you can feel the quicker response. Sport mode is fantastic as well.I see Ford has a tune , i guess that wouldn't void warranty ... Not sure how it shifts though ... Somewhere above Drive but below sport would be perfect... IMO ...
Just keep in mind that with the ford tune, you're stuck with 93 octane. I have livernois and it's pretty good and the tow tune has flexibility on octane.I guess im gona have too... Either that or test the air bags...all of them...
I had the FP performance tune on my 21 Ranger up to recently (~7500 miles) it raises the shift points and cruising rpm. The cruising rpms are not quite as high as I would like to get rid of that lugging sensation 100% but I was happy to live with it. Since I do not push the truck into the upper rpm range very often where you get most of the power increase from the FP tune and the fact that gas price are going up fast I decided to go back to a tune that I could use 87 Octane. Since I already had a SCT X4 from a previous car and have had nothing but great service from Unleashed tuning I purchased an 87 Octane performance tune from Torrie. I asked him specifically to work.on the transmission calibration. I am on the second revision which is based of the tow mode but does not hold the rpms before upshifting as long. It keeps the cruising rpm between 1500 and 2000 rpm which is what I wanted. There is some hunting between gears but it is getting less and less as the transmission learns so I am not going to request another revision yet.I see Ford has a tune , i guess that wouldn't void warranty ...
