I’m considering either the RoadActive Suspension or the Torklift STableLoad upgrade to my suspension. I have a 2023 XLT 4WD with Bilstein shocks and Firestone Airbags. My camper is an Outfitter Caribou Light. With the camper on, I’m right at the 1500 lb. Load limit. The airbags level the load but there’s a lot of sway, especially at low speeds on rough roads. I’m considering the Road Active Suspension or the Torklift StableLoad suspension upgrades. Maybe in the process, eliminate the airbags? Any advice would be appreciated.

Had to look up the second option there since I never heard of it. After taking a look I would recommend ditching the airbags and adding the road active suspension.

Couple of questions:
1. By 1500 lb load limit do you mean the payload rating?

2. How big is your trailer (weight, length and number of axles.

3. Are you using a WDH? If so does it have sway control

5. What is your tongue weight? What is your total trailer weight.

6. Is your trailer level when towing?

If your trailer is not setup properly and correctly loaded (balanced), it will be very suseptable to sway especially on rough roads. Doing upgrades to you suspension will not change that.

I tow a 4000 lb trailer with a WDH that has built in sway control. I have Bilstein 5100s on the back with blue Sumo spring bump stops. My trailer is solid as a rock behind me even on rough roads.

Make sure you get your setup dialed in and then decide if you need to make any suspension updates.

Can you post a link or pic for the bump stops you have? Might wanna look into those…
