I mostly drive 70% city but this last tank I had 2 different jobs that were farther away than normal and mostly highway driving (75%). Filled up last night and averaged 21.9 which is calculated on my Fuelly app. One plus was gas is down to $1.95 at Sams club.

mine has improved as well, not so much on the city/hwy...I'm still doing some 90% city driving...my latest was 20.1 (fuelly) vs. 20.9 (computer);my previous was 18.4/19.5, but I just broke 1000 miles...also my fuelly app doesn't have all that fancy extra data (I'm one of those android guys)

Fuelly gives that data on the webpage. So you can still view it, just not easily on an Android phone.

It definitely gets better mpg's as you break in the engine. I noticed an increase around 1200 miles and now I'm at 4925,I didn't record the first dealers free fill up. The mpg's get totally destroyed with short trips (2-3 miles) or a lot of stop and go city driving but this was the first tank in a while where I did more highway than city. Plus it's finally warmed up here so I'm not having to wait long in the mornings for it to warm up a bit before driving off. I'm not really heavy on the pedal but I do get on it often and switch between D and S modes.

Come on Dave....you gotta have more than 4520 Miles on the Ranger!!! Hell I got 7760 and I don't drive it that much. As a matter of fact, I have only driven it 25 miles in the last 2 weeks! Coming up on a year (4/8) since delivery. OH....I have ridden over 6k since 4/8 also. ?

Lol There's 4925 on it now. I didn't start the Fuelly app until after the first tank from the dealer and I had a partial fill up I never entered. I still have 3 months until my 1 year (7/25) so I might catch you. ?

Almost all my jobs are close by and everything I need for stores are within a couple miles. The place we go shooting out in the desert is about 26 miles and a few airport trips a year which is about the same distance. I was hoping to drive it a lot this year but we had to cancel our trip next week up to Sedona and still not sure if we'll be able to go to Utah the end of July. :frown:

I did log my dealer fillup just for grins...highly inaccurate but it gave me 15.8 mpg...these days as long as I take the long way to work and back, I get decent mpg

Went for my first "long" drive in awhile on Sunday. Had to deliver my brother his mail that he's had delivered to our house, wanted to check out the at-speed performance of my new topper (installed Friday), and I mostly just wanted an excuse to get out of the house since a lot of us are stuck at home for the past few weeks and the foreseeable future.

Anyways, ended up getting 20.5mpg on the way north to his place. It's slightly uphill, 70mph, and there was a substantial headwind. So all in all about what I expected. On the way home though, I took a different route, using sheltered rural highways (60mph and no real wind affects). So I ended up with 26.8mpg on that run. That is better than I was expecting. I'm still running winter blend and it was below freezing for the whole trip, so I was expecting something more in the 24-25mpg range. But this was approaching my summer blend clean profile numbers. Not sure if the topper made the difference or something else, but I'm happy with the numbers!

Just filled up today, 1st one after making an adjustment to the computer. I got 19.4 (truck), 19.0 (hand) with 17.921 gals, 341 miles, 2miles DTE, 50/50 city/highway. No hot dogging, modest driving, no S mode, 50mph city, 70mph highway.

I have gotten between 16.8 to 18.5 MPG since I bought the truck in November. I took my son to a lake about 35 miles away yesterday to do some fishing on my friends boat and got 25.8 MPG round trip. That is pretty good considering what I have gotten so far.

Hand calc 19 to 20 if I behave. Which is not usual unfortunately. Towed 4000 into a 40 mph head wind and maintained 80 mph for long stretches. Little bugger was screaming at 4500 to 5k rpm. Mileage dropped to 9 mpg. I wanted to get into that turbo and get it nice and toasty. I think I succeeded. I should never have got rid of my dodge cummins. Oh well. Ranger is a pretty good "little" truck. Actually works pretty good for what it is.

Hit 24.4mpg on my last tank. Hand calc and truck matched exactly without any fudging of the computer! (mine has always been within +/-1mpg anyways) This was my first full tank with the topper. Mixed rural highway (60mph), freeway (75 mph), and some small amount of city (25-45mph) driving. Still winter blend. Pretty happy with these numbers!

The best I ever got was 27.8. One time only. I usually tow about 5000 pounds, so 12-13 is normal for that at highway speeds.

I hit the same mpg once before as well. Gotten close a few times though too. I'm hoping to meet or beat it this summer sometime though. My goal is to hit 500 miles on a tank. Only problem is most of the ideal types of trips for that kind of mileage (relatively flat and smooth at 60mph) we're not in a clean form. We're usually either towing our ~2000lb camper (which yields about 17-19mpg), or have kayaks on the roof (which yields about 22-24mpg). And now any non-camping non-adventure trip we'll probably take my wife's new Escape. So that also limits those ideal types of trips.
