Edelbrock carburetors, the main goal working on one of them in the vehicle is "don't drop any of the clips"
OKI have a problem so I got my stick. I'm trying to put it on today. Well, trying to get that cap off. The transmission from below is an effort in futility. For me , now I'm up above and I put my long extensions and the socket on it. And I just wanna make sure that Turn to my left, lefty loosen righty tighty. But that son of a b**** will not come off. That must have been put on by gorilla monsoon.
Any suggestions?

Yes...right/tight, left/loose.
Here's a pic of the cap and stick if you've not seen it out...

The first page of the instructions shows the picture with the yellow arrow showing the direction.

If you warm up the transmission it will help, but then you gotta let it cool back down.

Yes from the top turn left or counter clockwise. I had the same issue and with extensions as I had a hell of a time breaking it loose.

Ahhhh, yes.....
Everyone who has let a clip, jet, nut, bolt, slip out of your fingers and slip down the carb, raise your hand !!!
Then you hear the "tinkle tinkle tinkle" of it bouncing down to rest on top of a piston !!!
Ask me how I know !!!
No kidding

Here is a photo of what I used. I took the flap loose in the wheel opening made it easyier to get to. I could get better leverage. Yes it was Gorilla tight. Well worth the effort.

No kidding, the crazy one was an intake valve, during a spring change lost the air in the cylinder as the piston dropped, it took an hour with borescopes, magnets and a claw, got it back in the guide, but it was on a dyno, not in a car.
Mine was on a Ford 260 V-8 in my first car, a 64 Falcon Sprint......long before borescopes....
That was my first foray into removing an intake and cylinder head.
That was in 1964, and I still have the set of Craftsman wrenches and sockets that I bought !!!

Tap on the cap with a hammer, gently, side to side best you can in the tight space.

Had to rebuild my 57 Ranchero side loader 3 speed(several times long story) putting the last bolt in the side cover I dropped it, bounced once went straight into the speedo hole in the tail shaft. Yep had to tear it back down. Taped the hole after that. Learned early on, if I drop it it can hide. :headbang: only hurts when I stop.
