By the time the next big batch hits, I will have the website up.

I did pay the fee to become a sponsor here.

But here is the problem, I'm trying to do it right, above board, pay the taxes and such, but it's complicated, I to have to figure out which business accounting program to sign up for (more fees) that will calculate and pay all the different tax rates for every city, state and county that I sell to, that is the good thing about ebay, you just get a report, easy, ebay used to be great.

Be sure to make your website known on here. Word of mouth goes a long way. ?

Mike, hopefully you will figure it out as we all want you to succeed, but making $20 is not enough profit for all the work you put into this business. By the time you buy the parts ,pay the fees along with your labor and electricity used in making the fitzstick it makes it hard to succeed.

A comment here is best, I hope to make a big enough batch to cover everyone.

Just to clarify, make a comment here if you have interest, I am getting PM's requesting one, or to be put on a list.
Here is best, I hope to be able to supply an adequate amount in the next 4-6 weeks.
Mike, I am interested in one.

Thanks, I knew it wouldn't be easy, I was expecting it to lean at first, but damn.

I'm all in at this point, I think it has great potential, just have to buy in bigger quantities for bigger discounts, example, I went to order 200 fittings for this next batch, over $800, but if I order 300 fittings, it's $600, I have to get to higher volume, the 60 for the first batch was almost $400, so for 1/3 more money, I get 240 more fittings.

I just have to get past this first batch in tact, scrounge some capitol, buy in volume, work hard, it should take care of itself, but that's only if the product has a good rating.

That's where you guys are important, I get real world feedback, also, you guys show me areas of concern or opportunity and ways to improve.

I sincerely thank everyone for all the input, I know it takes time to take pics, post them up, you guys are great... (I use guys universally as Ranger owners, it includes guys and gals!)

Mike the Fitzstick should have a awesome rating as with all your hard work you provided us Ranger owners a solution to keep our trannies in tip top condition with the easy removal of fluid. I had no hope before this Fitzstick to keep my fluid clean as paying a mint at the dealer or take a chance on a independent was not feesible for me.

All these Rangers now will be able to be maintained easily and I credit this to Mikes ingenuity on creating a product as good as any oem manufacturer could design and make.

The hardest part of the installation is getting that darn Ford designed dipstick nut off that some gorilla tightened to the max. In my estimation I believe this product should be on every Ranger owners vehicle that cares about their vehicle, so fellas get the word out on this awesome product!!!

Sorry to add a grim note:

I cant sell them on ebay anymore.

Guys.... does anybody want to guess how much I'm making a piece on these? Less than ebay, they make $27-30 plus charging $9-19 to print the shipping label.......... (that's not the shipping charge) they attach a final value fee, that is based on part cost, taxes and shipping, so if it has high shipping cost and high taxes, more comes out of my pocket:curse:

To answer the question, less than $20...sometimes less than $15 (this is where you hear the sound of stuff being thrown around the shop) I will see this through and hope for the best, but dammit, I thought this was possibly an okay idea to try and start a business, maybe make a little money.
I'm going to maybe sell my old 75 F350 crew cab for additional product funds, I dont drive it much anyways. (please, nobody offer to pre-pay or funding)

Who said it would be easy:crazy:
Yeah I had a rude awakening too when I decided to sell on ebay. I had a garage sale of sorts when I was moving, sold a bunch of stuff, made about $1500 and ebay took $700. I also just flat out lost ~$100 over customers complaining and wanting a return. It doesn't matter how well your description is or how many pictures you take, ANY buyer can return ANYTHING they want and you as a seller are on the hook for shipping and have no recourse. Man was that some BS!

Mike, DO NOT get discouraged ! You started this, what, 5 months ago with an idea, and in that short time you have thought about, designed, developed, and produced a viable, needed, quality product.
The need and buyers were there, and you came through. The toughest part, the design, and your ability are the hardest part of any new product, and you have done both. The rest as far as advertising, shipping, applying proper taxes, ect will all fall into place.
Your product will also have applications, possibly with just a few modifications, will fit other Ford products, thus opening up further sales.
Personally, I always knew that the price, as with any new product under development, would go up....but what your turning out is well worth the price. The difference between your original target price and the current price is a difference that wouldn't even buy a good pizza, and compared to all the other very expensive mod's and stuff we buy is really, at least to me, insignificant.
Keep at it...everything will fall into place should you, I hope, continue.

Mike - there are a number of members here with IT / E-Commerce backgrounds and expertise. We know you are working on getting a website up and running, but feel free to reach out if you would like any advice and/or help with minimizing costs for whatever platform you set up. eBay is certainly convenient, but as you've learned you PAY for that convenience. There are MUCH cheaper options out there, which are still pretty convenient once set up.

I happen to be a fan of setting up a Virtual Private Server with NameCheap.com (~$65/year), installing WordPress (free) and using WooCommerce plugin (basic is free, some add-ons cost $10-20/year). Hook that up to a Stripe account to process payments, and you wind up being charged around 2.5%ish / transaction. The rest goes into your bank account.

WooCommerce is smart enough to figure out real-time accurate shipping quotes and calculate taxes, etc.

The above setup does require some expertise, but as I said: I'm *certain* there are members here who would be willing to step in to help get things off the ground for you.
