And if your dealer is 100 miles away?, or if your Tranny is acting up a bit and you just want to check the fluid level? As a lifelong 'wrench' I hate taking my vehicle to the 'Stealer' for anything. Now if you don't know the difference between #1 and a #2 Phillips then yes, by all means take it in. The fact that Ford wanted to save a couple bucks and push service to the dealer by deleting the dip stick just pisses me off.Yes, of course. I was just reading these threads and was trying to understand why people would choose and expensive $250 dipstick, or any non-OEM dipstick over just letting the dealer deal with it.
