AND it shows the Tremor nostrils?? Here's what mine does:

Have you “added” your vehicle using your VIN? You can add it by pressing the v-shaped “down arrow” or in the Account section.

Maybe a screenshot of the second screen will help us figure this out for you.

Why do some of the screens show an Icon of horn/light at the bottom of the screen and some don't?
Mine doesn't have that option.
Oh man, thanks a lot Bill - mine doesn’t have those icons either! Oh well, something to figure out over morning coffee. ?

I had that issue at first, it has to do with a setting on screen size, I cannot remember exactly what I changed, but if you bring the text or screen size down a tad - it magically appears ( All Icons)

I'm guessing when you enter the vin it pulls the actual truck specs into the app.

Tap the top center "ranger tremor" and see if it opens more info

So I read in another thread that someone's image wasn't showing up on their account on the Ford website either. I just checked that: no image on the website. I removed my vehicle and re-added it using the VIN, still no image on the website, and now my access to my truck is removed from the app and I can't reactivate right now because my dealer has my truck working on the dreaded "harsh shifting" issue. ?

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the year of the truck?
Setting the resolution in an iPhone is done by either or both of the zoom and text size. Tapping on the vehicle pic goes to status and features screen.
Which I can view tire pressure and oil life.
Still no Icon for horn/light.

Hey Bill, I thought you might be on to something since another thread emerged in 2022 about the icons being added to the app. It included this…

To use the Horn and Lights function:
  • You must have a vehicle added to the FordPass™ app.
  • Your vehicle must have the SYNC®/FordPass Connect™ modem.
  • Feature is only available on select vehicles.
  • Your embedded modem must be activated.

I’ve messed with the text settings on my phone and iPad with no success. I’ve logged out and logged back in without any luck either.

Regarding model year, here’s what I’ve seen so far between that thread and this one…

App shows both icons…
‘20 Lariat Screw
‘20 STX Scab
‘21 XLT Screw
’22 XL Scab
’22 XLT Screw
’23 Lariat Screw

App does not show icons…
’19 XLT Scab (mine, not shown in thread)
’19 ??? Screw (fob63/Bill)
’21 XLT Screw

I don’t think it’s a model year, trim, or cab configuration issue - odd.

I need to make more coffee.

Well, you learn something new everyday. I'm laid up for a few weeks after cancer surgery and didn't want my 2021 ranger lariat to get lonely, so I remote started it from the Ford Pass App a couple time last 2 weeks.
I tried again today and got the message "Failed To Start, You must drive your vehicle after 2 remote starts." Not sure what this accomplishes but just found it interesting.

You’ll kill your battery if it starts without being driven enough to recharge.

Well, I called Ford Pass customer service and they could only guess that it had something to do with the model year. After explaining why that’s not likely, they could only suggest that someone with the icons showing in the app contact them and their engineers could then do a deep dive.

So, still a mystery until someone does that and then maybe still a mystery.

ZOINKS!

You can set Ford Pass to remote start on a schedule, that is the only way to go past 2 remote starts without driving the vehicle. Don't know why they do that.

When I remote start it, it runs 5 minutes then dies. Seems that would replace any charge used up by starter. I can set it to run longer if needed.
