OK I understand, thanks for the reply And I hope you get your order asap.I never got a VIN # . I just happened to be by the dealer so I stopped in and they were just calling me as I pulled in. They let me know what was going on so we reordered and now I wait for a 22!

Sounds like they’re treating you to a free install on that, good deal! The $339 is list price for the kit. Part number VKB3Z 2C006 ASorry to hear that, but yes that’s installed price with my dealer.
I put "improvements" in quotes to mean there really weren't any that I could see. Major change coming on the 2023s, I think. What changes have you seen? The 2022 order guide that's been posted on the forum shows very limited changes, mostly options for graphics and paint. Just curious if you've seen other info since I have an order placed for a 22 and have been trying to find everything I can on changes from 21.
This is sounding an awful lot like a Bait and Switch scenario. They sucked you in with an attractive offer that they weren't able to honor, and now they're trying to shift you into a higher priced substitute.I'm really frustrated. Ford were running a $1500 factory order incentive when I placed the order. When a company runs a promotion like that, isn't because they want to try and get more orders in?? And then just turn around and cancel it? Well why the heck were you running a promotion??
Speaking to their customer service did not help. I tried to explain, look I get it things are really weird in the supply chain. I'm ok with that, no problem I can wait, I'm fine with getting a 2022, I really only need the truck by next spring. I think I'm being a very reasonable customer, all I'm asking is honour the original price, incentive and finance rate. Isn't that fair?
Sounds like it's got all the elements of a binding contract to me (please note, I'm not a lawyer and it's been years since I've stayed in a Holiday Inn Express), but you may not have much legal recourse. Since they aren't living up to their end of the contract, it probably just nullifies all your requirements in the contract, so you get your deposit back (you're probably entitled to interest, though that will amount to peanuts) and are back at square one in your vehicle purchasing adventure.I wonder if it's really a binding contract, there's basically 2 sheets, one with all the pricing details showing the factory rebate, the finance rate, the taxes, the overall interest that will be paid and the payment amount that I signed and the dealer signed, and a second sheet showing the configuration and options I chose on the truck.
Thanks for that. You're right it does sound bait and switch, but others have also reported their orders being cancelled, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. This is sounding an awful lot like a Bait and Switch scenario. My two cents on how to proceed:
You've actually got a bit of leverage here, though admittedly it's pretty small. Tell your dealer you want the original agreed-upon price honored, or you take the order elsewhere. There's nothing unique about the goods being offered by the dealership, since you can get the exact same truck with the exact same MSRP and the exact same corporate rebates at any dealership in the country. If they can't offer you something unique in terms of pricing, I see no reason to place the order at a dealership that has already established a history of failing to deliver.
My 2021 Ranger was also cancelled and now I have a 2022 ordered. Changed colors from Carbonized gray to Cactus gray. Thanks for that. You're right it does sound bait and switch, but others have also reported their orders being cancelled, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.
I have asked the dealer to honour the agreement with a 2022 model, they are going back to Ford and I was supposed to get a call back Friday but didn't. I don't know what I'm going to do but right now there is some good incentives at a certain other domestic competitor...
Just on principal; if you feel you’ve been dealt a bad hands by the dealer, ID take a walk, after getting my deposit returned. Dealers are your friend, only while shopping. Afterwards, most tart l treat one like unknown aliens.I put a $500 deposit
LOL The salesman who I bought my Ranger from turned into a friend! He and his wife later adopted 3 of my horse barn kittens to be their house cats and texts me photos and updates!Just on principal; if you feel you’ve been dealt a bad hands by the dealer, ID take a walk, after getting my deposit returned. But, good luck.
