Ah, the days before recalls... when people were responsible for themselves and used reason instead of blaming others for thier own stupidity..
I miss those days.

Nah, people have always been stupid and blamed others. How do you think all the warnings and labels ended up on everything. You just didn't hear about it as much because there was no internet.

NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V379000

Manufacturer Ford Motor Company

Components EQUIPMENT

Potential Number of Units Affected 29,607

Summary
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Bronco, 2023 Super Duty F-250, and 2019-2023 Ranger vehicles. The Tire and Loading Information (TREAD) label states the incorrect load carrying capacity, which can result in an overloaded vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Remedy
Ford will mail a new TREAD label to install over the existing label, free of charge. Owners will also have the option to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to have the new label installed, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 5, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23C18.
Sure glad I bought a Ranger over Taco because it had more payload for my Four Wheel Camper. NOT!

How much lower payload than the Tacoma will we have when the new sticker arrives?

As explained to me there has to be actual liability and actual monetary loss. 100 percent liability times 0 percent loss equals $1 award when you are done litigating...

8930 Rangers affected out of about 350,000 built. Add on accessories were not included in the payload calculation. Not a big deal.

More dump runs for Soupie with the lower payload.
Silver lining as you just said: "more". =)

And the new lower rating will also be easier on my back! Ford's looking out for us all! =D

For bigger dump runs, like a lawn bag of grass clippings, I might get something like this with a bigger capacity:

I just plugged in my VIN # to the NHTSA site, my 2020 XLT 4X4 crew cab is not affected by this recall issue at this time.

If I get a sticker, I'll post the before and after, and suggest others do also. But I don't think it will be much change.
