FYI, I had a weird rattle in the back end on my 22 Lariat Tremor. Had one of my kids bounce it up and down and I discovered the lower mounting bolt on the driver side rear shock was flat out loose and moving. Not sure if not properly torqued at the factory or what, but I don't see any type of threadlocker on it. I snugged it up tonight and will hit it with some tomorrow.

Anyway, just thought I'd give everyone something to look at if they were under their trucks.

When I replaced my back shocks there was a loose nut under the truck :crazy:and also the bottom bolt on the passenger side shock was loose. there was an occasional thunk that went away afterwards. I always thought it was just junk in the bed

I checked and my shock bolts were tight, however
my spare tire was a bit loose so I tightened it up. I recently installed new tires and reckon that may have happened when they serviced the spare.

Hi Nathan,

Please file a formal complaint with Ford Customer Care. This should not have happened to a stock truck....

best,
Phil

Update on clunk in rear: Still there after tightening up the spare tire. Upon further inspection, I found the support chain for the spare tire was unsecured and thrashng about. Probably should have deployed the spare and properly secured it, but I took the lazy route and hooked one end of a short bungee cord to the chain and the other end to a frame rail. No more weird noises, so calling it fixed.

I had the same issue recently, but I just took it to the dealership instead of crawling under the truck myself.
