As far as I know, the backup lights do not come on. I’ve taken apart the edge shifter that looks similar. It has little micro switches for all the positions. I had to replace the park one on my wife’s edge.

Its kinda scary, isn't it? I did it once by accident when I forgot to let go of the button after popping in to S mode and pushed it forward again to put it back into D. Heart stopping, cringing panic attack for a moment, then "Hey! that does work!"Camera is powered all the time, the input change is triggered by the reverse switch almost guaranteed (because it comes on while doing 70 on the expressway if you put it in reverse).
I did it on purpose... I also put it in park, not as fun...Its kinda scary, isn't it? Same but I wouldn't call it balls...I still don't have the balls to try it.

so if every position has a switch, what would the compooter think if it was in drive and reverse at the same time. there must be a switch for reverse lights and camera unless the compooter controls thoseI’ve taken apart the edge shifter that looks similar. What camera do you have for the camper? Is there anything that will tie into our normal dash interface as opposed to a second monitor? My camper does it at any speed, plus i've seen some other vehicles that have rearview mirrors that double as camera screens.
Furrion 5" camera. It's expensive for what you get, but it has an audio feature that is a game changer. Also it only comes on when the headlights are on which reminds you to turn them on.What camera do you have for the camper?
