Rear view Camera

Hi to all,
my XLT just purchased (new, in 2020) is equipped with Sync3 and PDC but no rear view camera. I'd like to install it but I've some questions about it. I will be grateful if anybody can answer.
1 - Is the harness ready for the camera in the tailgate?
2 -Using Forscan I can change some parameters on the block 7D0-01-01. At that point I can activate the camera. Just buy the original spare part, install it, change the block 7D0-01-01 and that's all? What is the needed part number(s)?
3- If so easy to do... why there's lot of aftermarket kits?

Take it back to whomever you bought it from. All trucks come with a backup camera.

Not in EU. Rear view Camera is optional.

We're a global forum, I find it interesting how things are different with Rangers in different markets.

Well... at this point I think the better way is dismount the cover and check...

NA harness going into bottom of tailgate.

Right side of this plug runs to tailgate.

Left side harness appears to tie into right taillamp harness.

Bad news... as you can see the connector is there.. but the camera wiring is missing (just two wires in place of eight).
So...At this point I cannot use the original wiring and I cannot use the original camera.

I'll keep you posted when solved...

In the meantime thank you for the suggestions.

Well that stinks. I know there is a module that will allow you to add additional inputs to the Sync system, I don't know the cost but I suspect it isn't cheap.

I was thinking about adding a wireless camera to the front and using that module to add it to sync. That might work for you, but I suspect it would cost me about $500 USD, so keep that in mind.
