No idea. These have been available in the international market for a while. Haven't heard of people complaining about their mirrors stripping or burning out. Ford tests these for hundreds of thousands if not more of cycling. I don't think this will be a problem. If you have a doubt it's not for you.What is the durability on these mirror motors/gears? I like the concept of this, but I have heard on other cars the gears are plastic and strip out over time etc. If they open and close every time, will they burn out/strip out just as soon as they are out of warranty? Right now I only use the power fold in tight parking spots just as an extra precaution.

I think I would only be concerned if a lot of water got into the mirror and then a hard freeze. I know it's another make, but my wife's Kia has auto fold mirrors and haven't had any issue in 3 yearsWhat is the durability on these mirror motors/gears?
