Yeah, windchill can be a real game-changer. But I'll take a dry cold with a wicked wind chill over a wet cold any day!

Been out a few times in the south suburbs of Chicago. No pics for safety but the traction control can be completely disabled with a long push. Perfect power slides. However toggling between 2 And 4wd turns it back on ?
Just so you know, while the long push will disable AdvanceTrak it will not disable RSC, Roll Stability Control. If you push much past 30° it will step in to spoil the fun.

The only way to disable RSC is to enable Sand Mode.

For snowy parking lot fun I go with Sand Mode, AdvanceTrak off (long push), and locker on.

Setting the truck up like this allows axis spins that'll make any Subaru owner drool.

Good to know. Guess my Ken Block game needs some work. I was happy under 30 degrees. Just wanted some slipping without the brakes clamping down. Leaned in snow in a truck that only had rear abs that never worked anyway. The traction control and all is a pain. Its nice to punch it and turn like a zero turn mower.

Nah man, your game is just fine.

Just letting you know because sooner or later it'll shut you down if you keep pushing. And when you think all the nannies are off it's a little disconcerting to have those brakes clamp down on you. Not to mention it could be dangerous if you were expecting to finish a slide you weren't allowed to.

Appreciate it, it is good to know. Guess I need that sand mode button to play in the snow now. Ironic really.

From what I understand adding terrain modes is pretty simple. I think it's just the switch and some forscan changes.

I thought it was ironic myself.

We got the first snow of any significance since I got my new Cooper AT3's last summer.
They go and turn great, stopping is iffy. Leave lots of room.

Anyone had a chance to take their new 2019 Ranger out in the snow yet?
in SE Lower Michigan we just got our firs real snow of the year. about 7" in my area.
Yes! ?? drove through 8” of snow in 4H and never had to use 4L or lock the rear diff! safely passing up yotas and colorados with ease on an ice-packed highway in a blizzard with ease! The only trucks that were keeping up were other Blue ovals and sierras ?. Extremely capable and no white knuckles during our 5 hour round trip road trip in the PNW!

does sand mode automatically put you in 4wd? I hate when the RSC kicks in when I’m blasting through the desert sliding and having a great time then the trucks sounds like it’s shutting itself and throws me into the dash lol ?
