So time for update. things have been so so ups and downs. friday night mom got up walked in the room and said she wanted to eat at spring creek bar b q. so of course i took her and we ate ribs and it was good. but on the flip side shes still almost silent. her hearing is much worse and its tough to get her to drink water and take meds. its stressful trying to handle it and watch. but it can always be worse some im trying to keep up in good spirit.

I hope others will be open and share needs and requests in this thread. it should not be all about my struggles. r5g is full of nice people, friends and family. so we should have positive thoughts and or prayers etc. to support us all! :like:

Thank you for the update. I will not quit praying. There is so much in this to pray for, but also things like a favorite dinner to be thankful for.
One thing I've learned very recently (or it was really driven home recently) is that you need to appreciate the little things while you can. You never know when your last meal/outing/whatever will be.

Every one of us has an "end date" - we don't know what it is, but we all have it. We need to enjoy whatever time we have.

My wife and I have been caring for her 87 YO dad and 98 YO mom. Her dad passed last Tuesday and now her mom seems lost. It’s fortunate my wife is retired and can help fill the emptiness her mom has.

Blessings to all.

Hi Andy,

Thoughts and Prayers for you and your wife on her dad's passing....

Best,

Thank you Phil.

It’s a weird dynamic when you age. You see your friends start passing until you no longer have many if any friends left. The other side is that your family keeps getting bigger and bigger. So overall the family seems to be most important since the beginning. I wish more people would understand that.

Again thanks for your prayers and blessings for all.

Hi Andy,

I knew so many Engineers/Administrative Assistants/finance people and external Supplier and Ad Agency people.... It is almost daily I get bad news about passing's on to a better world... Here in our neighborhood too....It is part of the aging process that has come to folks before us too, but today, news travels so much faster as we are so connected. You are well focused on family! Many do not realized until it is too late...

best,
Phil

Hi Mark,
Thank you for that . We appreciate all prayers and blessings from everyone. It’s really nice to know we can share our grief’s here with a very understanding group of people that someday we will cross paths. If not then it’s great knowing them here.

God bless and thank you everyone for the prayers and sentiment.

That exactly is the key. Enjoy each day, each moment. Live without negativity and de-stress yourself as much as possible.
When I moved and retired here to the Philippines all my family and friends were like "your not worried about China". Also multitude of other negative thoughts. My reply is simple.
I am retired in what I classify a paradise, I do what I want and when I want. I have full time with my wife, my dog and friends as I choose. I tell them I am just going to enjoy each day for what it is and be happy. Simple right?
